“If this range is 40” and standard cabinet/countertops are 36”, then does this range sit up higher than the countertop so it doesn’t really give it that “built in” look? In one of the pictures it looks like it matches up with the height of the cabinets.”

KT, I can tell you that this Range is 36" Counter Height. You can adjust the height by an inch with the little feet underneath the unit. I got really confused with the inflated height numbers. They are supposed to reflect to the top of the knobs, or highest point on the stove. I measured all over it and couldn't get close to the almost 40 inches high they claim.
