“Are the control panels metal? Doers this range have issues common with the 745 model where panels were painted and paint came off easily (with a fingernail). I have had two microwaves with this issue and don't want to chance this happening with a range.”

If you are referring to the control panel that houses the low quality failing touch screen then that is glass all the way across the top. If your referring to the panel the knobs are attached to it is metal. Do not buy this oven that sceeen failed in 4 months.
