No. This requires clumping litter. FYI, I use Boxiecat lightweight clumping; has most of the characteristics of Pretty Litter (other than the color change), and also is better at odor avoidance.

The litter clumps and the robot sifts out the clumps and drop them into a bin -- that's the magic! And it's magical! I use World's Best Cat Litter, but you can use most any clumping litter. Tidy Cats even makes a formula specific for the Robot.
