“Does the Litter Hopper extend the time between refills AND cleanups of the main unit, or does the waste drawer usually get full anyway before more litter is needed? If it matters, I’m asking about use with a single, medium sized cat.”

Hello Fred, The Litter-Hopper helps extend the time between manual litter refills by automatically dispensing litter as needed. With the Litter-Hopper, you'll only need to refill it occasionally—much less often than manually refilling the globe. The automatic dispensing system ensures a consistent litter level, reducing the need for frequent top-ups. However, it does not reduce the frequency of waste removal or cleaning. The waste drawer should still be emptied about once or twice per week, depending on your cat’s usage. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The hopper fills the litter as the level in the globe gets used. There is a fill line around the liner that is the optimal fill level. Without the hopper, you have to manually fill litter to the fill line periodically. With the hopper, the robot takes care of maintaining fresh litter for you. You just fill the hopper and watch the magic happen. I have 2 medium-ish cats and one week's worth of... ahem, output doesn't fill the waste bin. I have yet to have them fill it, but so far, it has a pretty good capacity. For one cat, you'll probably get a couple weeks, unless your furry friend is... ahem, prolific.
