• The more you insulate the better the performance, yes the exhaust does get pretty hot without insulation and that heats the room back up and works against the air conditioner.

• The exhaust hose naturally gets hot because it’s expelling warm air outside. To help prevent that heat from seeping back into the room, we recommend wrapping the hose with an insulation cover.
