• A:Answer The air conditioner uses the patented auto drain or self-evaporative technology which exhausts condensation automatically in most environments. Please note that if the humidity is very high, the auto drain function will still exhaust the majority of the moisture. The remaining moisture will be collected in the water tank at the base of the air conditioner and continue to self-evaporate until the tank becomes full and requires manual drainage.
  If continuous drainage is necessary, the included hose can be installed to the upper drain port for continuous gravity drainage. When continuous drainage is set up, the collected moisture will be drained through the hose and not drain down into the water tank and will not self-evaporate.
  The air conditioner operates more efficiently without continuous drainage set up as the self-evaporative system recirculates the moisture collected in the tank over the internal condenser coils which help create cooler air.

Q: QuestionWhat is the normal runtime before the bucket is full? I ask because I just purchased this, and installed yesterday and I have already had to drain it twice. 1 last nite and 1 today. Not even a full day of operation and it fill's up too fast

Q: QuestionHow does manual draining work if the tank is full and continuous draining is not set up? Do you need a floor drain or to take the entire unit to a sink, or can you take the tank out?

• A:Answer I only use continuous. The upper port is high enough you could drain into a 5 gallon bucket. Just don’t forget to empty.

Q: QuestionMy window width is only 19.5 inches. I read the minimum length/width is 26". Is there a way to adjust the width so that it will fit?

• A:Answer My ARC-1230WNH came with two sliding panels for either a horizontal or vertical installation. The primary panel with the cutout for the dual hose assembly is 18.5 inches. And according the owners manual, this panel can be used by itself to install the air conditioner hose assembly. I would also estimate that 2 or 3 inches could be removed from that panel if necessary in a hung window installation.

• A:Answer Optionally, you can set up a continuous drain into a floor drain, bucket, etc.. Or you can terminate the drain in a condensate pump that will automatically pump the water to the outside of the window.
