“Would like to attach a garden hose to upper drain port with a valve so I can open drain when in "DRY" mode. Tried garden hose but it doesn't work. Tried an NPT adapter but no go. So, what is the thread? Metric? Thanks”

The clear drain hose for gravity draining is 5/8" OD or 16 mm, 19 7/8" length.
