the handles on each end are VERY well made and very sturdy! The handles are wrapped with some plastic for a more comfortable grab, but the actual handles are made out of metal. EVERYTHING about this fridge/freezer is TOP quality! AND is is an actual fridge/freezer....not a thermal cooler like most. THAT is why it cost quite a bit more than most similar products. BUT.....it is worth every penny!!!
