• Air is pulled in from the front, comes out the top, so feel free to put it up against a wall.

• The air sucks from the front and out the top. Because of the casing, the air tends to go up and to the right. If you want to use this up-right airflow to circulate air by bouncing it off a wall.. maybe that could work, but all in all.. it works anywhere.

• Max, the Winix 5500-2 air cleaner has 3 air intakes (one in each side and the front). The clean air comes from the top, therefore the unit can be used close to a wall, or slightly away from it.
