To get a reading and see it on the screen no wifi is needed. But the wifi enhances the features by loading the reading to the app for record keeping.

Please try again later.Hi, You need a wifi to set it up to sync with the app. Once it is set up you can use it without the wifi, but it will only hold 6 settings before it has to sync. So, the monitor does need the wifi and app, even if you can take up 6 measurements without it. It sounds like you would need a simpler manual Blood pressure monitor similar to Omron models.

Also you need to register on the WITHINGS website to track of yourreadings. If you are not planning on syncing with your phone to the health mate app. You might want to buy something cheaper.
