A copy of the data is synced to the Withings app from the Withings servers. If you connect it with WiFi, the data will sync to your Withings account online. When you open the app, the app syncs with your account online and shows you the data in the app. If you travel to somewhere with no cell service, you can connect the device using Bluetooth instead of WiFi. The data will then sync to your app instead of the server. The app should show your prior data as well if you have no cell service. Once you connect to the internet again, the app will sync with your Withings account online to update the server. This keeps the data shown in your app updated on all of your phones/tablets.
Sorry, there was a problem. No idea if it ever uploads. Doubtful as this is not a cloud device. Of course, your phone may backup to the cloud.
