Your question is confusing due to Microsofts naming of the consoles. The disc version can be played on Xbox Series X, Xbox One X and Xbox One S. The Xbox Series S can only play a digitally downloaded version.

You CAN NOT return a video game once you open it; only exchange it for another copy of the same game. Best Buy's Return Policy and other stores for video games purchased as New usually DO NOT allow returns. Maybe Store Credit but not returns.
