Make sure the issue isn't RAM. 12 to 16GB needed for many games. Yes the 6300 is older but you are more likely GPU bound. I would look at a new FX 570 or FX580 big uplift from the 460 series.

With the processor you mentioned, I understand why you want to use the GPU, but you might look at a processor upgrade soon - some games also rely more on the CPU than the GPU, so it's very possible a GPU upgrade won't fix all the issues. That said, a GTX 1060 would be a large upgrade (either the 3GB or 6GB version) over the RX-460. It's a budget-friendly card (3GB is usually about $220) with nice performance.
