Does this automatically lock? null

The lock does have an Auto-Lock feature. This feature is off by default and will need to be enabled once the lock is set up.

You can set it to automatically lock but I would recommend using a better product from Kwikset. Kwikset has a strong customer service team that can provide you with the support you need to get your product installed and running for a long time. My experience with Yale is that they try to avoid helping you and they don't want to honor their warranty.
