“do i need to use audio plugs to attach the speaker wires to this receiver or do i just land the wires under a screw”

• You can do either. I screwed my wire in and my speakers work great.

• This receiver supports both. The speaker attachments can screw down on bare wires or use RCA/banana clips. Or both.
