To clarify. You cannot add "back speakers or additional speakers to this surround sound unit" but you can purchase additional speakers for other rooms that use yamaha's music cast system. Believe it's enabled in most their new speakers now

No you cannot add on speakers but he said they tested this in a 35x35 room with high vaulted ceilings and was blown away by the results. I'm mostly likely buying this to try it out. Seems the best option out right now if you care about HDR 4K pass thru
