Do they have to be pluged in for out door use? null

Not to power but they do need to be wired to sound system with speaker wire.

They need to be connected to the sound source with speaker wire. They do not need to be plugged into 110V current, just the speaker wiring.

No electric plugged in, speaker wired connected

No plug in. Just speaker wire then to tuner receiver.

The speakers must be connected as they would be in indoor use.
