Bit confused by your question. There is no input on the front of the receiver, just a headphone jack, which is for headphones. To connect to it, you need to connect your source (such as DVD or CD player) to one of the pairs of red and white RCA jacks on the back. This is analog audio in. Many current DVD players don't have analog stereo outputs, just digital. If you don't have red and white outputs on the back of your DVD player you can't connect to this receiver without some kind of an adaptor
