Simple answer is " yes ", it says so in the manual we received with the unit. And it calls for 8 ohm speakers but we are running 2 / 5ohm speakers with no problems so far. For ohms detailed explanation, look for an article with Andrew Jones about ohms, creator of some of Pioneer's best speakers. Standard ohms in speakers is a bit misleading and you'll find some interesting info there. Hope this helps.
