An old style analog turntable can and will work with this receiver if and only if it has a preamp switch on it. Unfortunately not all turntables come with preamps. A lot of the newer higher end turntables come standard with a preamp switch. You can usually find the switch on the back panel next to your analog inputs. If it's an older turntable it most likely does not have a preamp switch or preamps and would require the purchase of a preamp box to bridge the turntable to the receiver.
