Yes it does allow you to use your phone with bluetooth. It in options menu under bluetooth you can set your phone up. I have this receiver in my workout area. With the radio even off I can go to my settings on my phone and connect to the receiver under Bluetooth, on my phone, and it will connect and turn the receiver on. I can control volume and playlist all from my phone. I works very well.
