the amplifier has the audio inputs to connect a cassette tape deck to play, but does not have a loop back to record.

Please try again later.yes you can connect a tape deck to one of the inputs via rca cables, I am not sure of is if you will need to use a preamp like I had to use for my phono player to work but I think that more had to do with the analog magnetic cartridge in the turntable. I'm thinking that the tape deck should work fine. receivers excellent. More than enough power for 5.1 speakers in a fairly large living room.
