How do I program to my Directv remote null

You should be able to call Direct Tv and they will step you through on how to program it also using HDMI cables automatically links up your equipment . It still might not control the volume level though. I still use my Yamaha remote to control the volume because if I ever want to change anything in the programming of the receiver you can still do so through that remote
