Yes over bluetooth. You can also add the MusicCast skill to Alexa and control the speakers with Alexa voice commands as well.

Yes - That's how I use mine. It wakes up quickly when I talk to my Dot. I usually only pair it when I want to listen to music though vs using it as full time Dot speaker.

Yamaha says mid-December it will have an Alexa skill. Right now you can Bluetooth connect it to play music.
