“Will this zagg screen protector work with a life proof fre case? I am leary that the life proof flimsy built in protector is not enough.”

I think it should - it's very thin, but strong - I removed the case I bought, and had no issues with the ZAGG screen protector - it covers the screen and most of the sides, but again it's super thin, so should not interfere IMO.
