Hello, The duct cover extension should fit in telescopically to provide an extension to the stock duct covers, if it does need to be cut it can be taken to a sheet metal fabrication shop to be cut. We would not recommend the customer try to cut the metal themselves. Thank you for your inquiry. -Zephyr
