It replaced an all in one that took up half a table and I am impressed with the functionality and capability. Is the scanner as great as a flatbead scanner? No, but it doesn't need to be. It does what it needs to do if you want to take a physical paper and scan it to digital. Printing is fast and simple. Recommend for the price and convenience. Amazingly small!

However, when it comes to scanning documents, I still had to struggle a little bit to get an acceptable scan of my desired document.

Best Buy Geek Squad said it was a problem that only HP could take care of and to call them. (Really pays off to buy the Geek Squad protection). Contacted HP--they were really nice and they are sending me a brand new only to replace the broken one.

I will be bringing it back to exchange on my next trip to Dallas. Need to find a small one with a screen for accessibility.

The scanning feature is NOT flatbed. it is difficult to feed paper into it to scan. paper crumples easily. ONLY paper can be scanned. cards and thicker paper cannot be scanned. with plenty of ink left, the printer simply stopped printing and will only spit out blank pages. this printer has only been used wired with a high-end USB cord.
