When my new 4K TV was installed the ARC (Audio Return Channel) would not work. This was probably because my new TV is a different brand from my home theater equipment. This optical digital audio cable provides the best alternate audio connection between the TV and my 5.1 home theater and the surround sound works like a champ. I have read that a longer length of this type of cable does not affect sound quality and I need this 12 foot length to be sure the cable is not too tight when I move equipment. (If you have a DVR be sure to select Dolby Digital in the DVR's settings. Otherwise you might not get 5.1 sound.)

Just what I needed to connect my new TV to my A/V receiver, as the new TV didn't have RCA audio connectors. After an input change from analog to digital in the receiver settings, the sound came on and was crystal clear.

Optical audio is likely the best way to transmit state of the art sound from a video source to an older sound system has hat has optical audio but not HDMI. in this case an LG C9 to an old Yamaha Rv1 with an 8.1 speaker set up. Bass sounds from Netflix and Prime movies are once again shaking the room through a ML woofer and Anthony Gallo Nucleus speakers providing immersive surround sound. The 4’ length is great for connecting the cable box but a little tight for the screen connection so make sure you purchase the right length for your setup. These connected no issues and the packaging was earth friendly (no plastic). Bought two.

I only buy rocketfish electronic components because of the high quality build versus the "free" cables that are provided from the manufacturers. I have rocketfish for my optic cables to HDMI - no issues at all! highly recommend.

So, I ordered the new TV from Best Buy and then realized I needed cables and connections to integrate it with our older DVD and stereo. I thought I'd order from Amazon, and did, but when I checked the order the next day it said it was going to take a MONTH to receive the order. CANCEL! Went online to Best buy and picked up the cables and new DVD player, picked it up an hour later and was enjoying excellent surround sound and my DVD collection in no time. Never uses this type of cable before, and was blown out of the water at how easy it was and how excellent the sound quality was. Skip AMAZON, got to Best Buy and get your stuff right away!

Works with tv..using for sound bar..using on pioneer tv

I have a 20 year Samsung sound bar with wireless sub woofer. Great sound so I don't want to get rid of it. The problem, it's not blue tooth capable. I needed a long Optical cable and this did the trick. The sound is awesome.

Provides perfect sound to my old HDMI-less sound bar. Thicker cable makes me feel the fiber is better protected than the one that came with my sound bar.

Does exactly what it was meant to do. Seems to be of good quality so far. Ive had it for about 6 months now. Using it to connect my hisense tv to my samsung sound bar. Initially I did not use this and there was a lag between what was on the screen and the sound that was coming out. Now that Im using this everything synced up perfectly.

Never used an optical audio cable but am familiar with the Rocketfish brand. Took a few to figure out how to get it to work with my TV + Roku + Xmuo to stereo set up. Once done great surround sound. Glad I chose this cable. Eliminates all the extra audio/video and HDMI cables. Get the extra length ... so helpful in positioning equipment.

I was mounting a new TV on the wall and needed a long optical audio cable to connect to the soundbar. I've used Rocketfish products before and know they're quality items. I was pleased to see the cable comes with protective caps on the fiber ends, which eased my mind because I had to pull the cable thru fiberglass insulation to get from the TV to the soundbar. I've had this cable in use for about a month now, and it performs flawlessly.

I connect my tv to a Logitech 5.1 sound system. Its a cable, so what I can say it is works very well, no issue of fit in either the TV or sound system. I wondered about being 25 feet long whether there would be a sound quality issue, as it still coiled up, but no works great. I recommend because it gives me the flexibility to plug in my computer that is 15 feet away, or TV that is right next to the sound system.
