I use it with my Shure MV7 and like someone mentioned before the mic doesn’t weigh a lot so you gotta push the arm down a little each time but it works great imo!

Seems like alot of people have the same issue. The arm kept springing up and wouldn't stay in place no matter how much I would adjust the screw or the joints.

It will not stay in place regardless of the amount of adjusting. You need a very heavy mic for this to be effective.

Thank you for choosing the Blue Compass Boom arm. I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties with balancing the Compass for a light microphone; I would like to help. I have attached a link to the Compass' "Getting Started" support page for your reference. Compass Boom Arm features three adjustable friction hinges. For additional adjustment, you can fine-tune
the internal spring tension. Inside the base of Compass, you will find the spring tension screw. Please slide the Compass out of the C-clamp desk mount to locate the spring tension screw. Rotate the screw clockwise to increase the tension of the internal springs (which may
be necessary for heavier microphones) or counter-clockwise to loosen (which may
be necessary for lightweight microphones). Please loosen the internal tension and adjust the friction hinges to balance the Compass Boom arm for your mic. For further assistance, please visit the support website.

To the credit of Best Buy, they refunded the purchase price, even knowing I had broken it.

Posted .Hello Drifts, Very sorry to hear about the issues you're having with adjusting the Compass Microphone Boom Stand. To adjust tension, take the boom arm off the C-clamp mount and adjust the Phillips-head Screw on the bottom of the boom arm. Left to loosen, right to tighten. From there, use the side adjustment knobs for granular adjustments on the fly. Horrendous Quality Control
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this mic arm over the rode PSA1 due to the better looks and the fact I already own a blue yeti and love it, however, this mic arm is a catapult, I used the tension screw to make it as loose as possible and this thing still won't stay down with my Yeti, I got a second one after speaking with Blue's customer support, and was told there is a quality control problem with some arms having way too much tension, so I got a second one, same problem, returning both of them and just getting a PSA1 as I should have in the first place

Hard to tighten

There is a screw on botto9m to ease tension but did not help. I am returning :(
