This is one of the best looking boom arm you can get on the market but it does not work for every micrphone. No matter how much you adjust the tension via knobs it does not stay on the desirable position at all. I am using Razer Siren X microphone with this boom arm and it is an absolute nightmare of a task for me to keep the arm in a position i want. So, unless you are using some heavy microphone consider this your best option otherwise dont waste your money on this.

Hello, Jay92! I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the Compass arm! I personally have the Spark SL microphone and was running into a similar issue. To fix this, all you have to do is remove the tension screw in the bottom of the boom arm and this should fix your issue. Thank you so much for the feedback on the design of the boom arm! I will be passing this along. - Maggie from Blue

Seems to be decent quality, but hanging my mic from a broom stick would have just as much adjustability.

If it was not for this Boom Arm being nice looking, i'd give it 0 stars. That is the only nice thing about this boom arm. It does not adjust and stay hardly at all. There is WAYY too much tension in the "elbow" of the arm so unless you have a mic that is the weight of a bowling ball, this aint the one for you! I'm pretty disappointed in this purchase!

Hello, booms! I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the Compass arm. I was running into a similar issue with the Blue Spark SL and the Compass arm. All you have to do is take out the screw in the bottom of the Compass and it should fix the issue. If you continue to have issues, I would then recommend reaching out to our support team here https://support.bluedesigns.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001526154 to file a warranty claim. The Compass has a 2-year limited hardware warranty. Thank you so much for the feedback on the design of the Compass! I will be passing this along. - Maggie from Blue

No matter how tight each joint is, the microphone stand does not stay fixed at your desired posture. The materials and wire channel is nice but using this on the HyperX quadcast s, it doesn't work that well.
I assume that a heavier microphone may help with the adjustment.

Only gave it one star cause you can't give it zero way to much tension to even make this usable even after loosing the tension screw at the bottom would work great if you stood up at a computer or had a neck like a giraffe other than that completely useless....

Pure junk. It will not bend past 90 degrees even if you loosen and retighten the elbow fastener. Absolutely useless for the angle I needed. The mounting base is solid, so theres that.

The arms do not tighten enough to stay in place. I only give it one star because it looks good and hides the cable somewhat.

Great boom arm for a specific use-case

This is my 2nd go-round with this Blue/Logitech Compass boom arm. As others have mentioned, if you aren't working with a very heavy microphone or heavy microphone + shock mount combo - this is not the boom arm for you. No amount of loosening tension will prevent the boom arm from lifting of its own accord. It can be frustrating and annoying and definitely not worth the effort to deal with it. For reference, I was initially using the Compass with an Audio Technica AT2035 that weighs in just under a pound; it was no match for the lift tension so I returned the Compass boom arm.
My current setup has a large shock mount + EV RE20 microphone -- combined weight is about 3 pounds. The Compass is ideal for this type of setup and manages the weight effortlessly. It's pricey relative to some basic scissor-arm type options, but for this type of setup, worth the money.
