The only problem is if you put something to close to the sensor it will not stop opening and closing. That said I got it on sale so it's worth it. Primarily for use in the restroom where you might not want to touch the lid on the trash.

Keeps my nosey dog out of the trash can. Contains smells better than a normal open 3 gallon can. Little on the pricy side considering its size -1 star.

Only issue is that the sensor is very sensitive and goes off every time you pass it and the lid opens.

Hoping to first, help the smells that come out of a trash can and, secondly, keeping those smells hard to get to. Very functional and fit right in the space between the vanity and toilet.
