||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the G14 as a replacement/upgrade from my very old 15.6" MSI (GTX 1050M, i5-7300HQ, 8GB RAM) and wanted both better GPU performance and a smaller form factor. While the RTX 3060 is definitely an improvement, the smaller size of the laptop means lower power (only up to 80W vs 125W on larger laptops with the same GPU). The speed of the overall system is excellent, especially if you're used to running older CPU's off of HDD drives. However, the 512GB SSD is definitely limiting for today's games (will have to constantly install/uninstall/reinstall if you play multiple titles. A hybrid SSD/HDD would have been nice - I had to get a 2TB external to house other media (photos, videos, etc.) Aesthetically, this is a very nice-looking laptop and it's only slightly thicker than the exceedingly more expensive Razor Blade 14. It's not an ultrabook, but it is more than serviceable as a travel laptop.

The key board lights up but can’t change colors despite having the software to do so. Cannot add more memory or storage unless you replace the ones in the slot. Color not all that great.
