Customers are impressed with the Performance Mouse MX's long battery life, comfortable ergonomics, and ease of use. Many appreciate its ability to work on various surfaces and its accurate tracking. While some find the price a bit high and the scroll wheel could be improved, the overall user experience is positive. The mouse's weight is also a point of contention for some users.

Useless for CAD work

CAD work (ProEngineer) requires heavy middle button use. This mouse does NOT provide good middle button functionality at all. The scroll wheel is free-floating so the slightest bump sends objects into the distance or into super-zoom. You have to push the middle button at the proper angle, which is extremely finnicky and not at all perpendicular to the face of the mouse.
Im extremly unhappy with the layout also. WHEN will someone figure out that not everyone wants or needs 20 buttons on a mouse? Why can't they design a super-precise tool for typical users? Why do they believe everyone's hand is the same size? There are a ton of mice on the market, but they all have 20 buttons OR terrible accuracy. Today's mice designers are clueless imo.

Worked Great for almost a week

I expect any mouse priced as high as this one to perform well and be built to last. While the mouse did perform well, after losing one of the highlighted selling features (the "hyperfast" scrolling) within the first week of use, I decided to return it and wait for something better...as of now I'm still waiting.

Lags, freezes and interferes with K800

I read some reviews which mentioned lags, but I thought maybe it was just their bad luck and mine would be better - no such luck.
It would lag after sitting even a brief time, and it would freeze for no apparent reason at all.
But the worst surprise was the incompatibility with my Logitech K800 illuminated wireless keyboard.
I had the keyboard for a few weeks and had no probs at all paired with my Logitech LX8 wireless laser mouse - with two separate USB receivers.
But when I replaced the LX8 with the Performance MX and set it up with one "unified" USB receiver, all of a sudden my typing would lag.
Put the LX8 back on with its separate USB receiver, and the lag stopped.
So the Performance MX was obviously interfering with the K800.
So I replaced the MX with the Logitech Anywhere mouse, and so far - so good with that.
Best Buy was real good about the exchange.

WAY Overpriced.

This mouse is way overpriced. Logitech cut too many corners and it feels cheaply made.
-The mouse click is very loud and will take some getting used to. How did they screw THAT up?
-Internet back/forward buttons feel odd. If you don't press them at the right angle, they will click but the command won't register.
-Battery life is TERRIBLE. One week, at best. No where near the 30 days advertised. The logitech forums are flooded with this complaint.
All in all, this mouse is only marginally better than a $30 Logitech.
Save your money and go buy a wireless gaming mouse. More buttons, better functionality, and better constructed.

Have to charge batteries several times per day

I was offered this mouse by a Best Buy manager in good faith because the one I ordered online to pick up in store could not be found in the store. This one was much more expensive than the one I initially ordered, so I figured I'd try it out at such a discounted price. Well, turns out I hate it. It is sculpted for an ergonomic fit to your hand, except it doesn't fit well. In order for it to be comfortable, my hand (average size male) has to fully encapsulate the mouse. The problem then becomes that the scroll wheel is set too far back to use. I have to keep my hand slid way back on the mouse, making it ergonomically incorrect. A second issue is with the wi-fi. I have an ASUS dual band AC gigabit router, which is pretty high quality. When I print wirelessly though, the mouse gets really jumpy and erratic. Finally, the batteries are rechargeable and drain super fast, which means I have to plug in the mouse via usb to the computer to recharge; basically turning it into a wired mouse. The usb cord is too short, so it makes it hard to charge and use at the same time. I will be passing this mouse off to my kids and will try out the one I initially was going to buy, the bluetooth Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Wireless Mouse.

Could Be Amazing...

The mouse feels great has good tracking but fails in the middle button category. I returned it thinking it was only a manufacture Issue but it has same exact issue on the second one.
The middle button down click which is used constantly for 3D drafting software does not work properly or is poorly positioned. The only way I could get it to work was positioning my finger in the tens of thousands of inch position and pressing down and to the right.
It has the potential to be one of best mice on the market if it was not for this huge flaw.

Bad battery life and button layout

I've had this mouse for two weeks and use it on my laptop for work and home.
I have large hands but find the "forward" button out of reach of my thumb and have to reposition my hand each time I find the need to use it.
My wife has the V450 Nano with a battery life of 12 months, and I was expecting at least 25% of this battery life, BUT this mouse needs to be recharged every three days.
The shape is such that not all people will find it comfortable.
I intend returning this to Best Buy to get something with the hyper-scroll and Nano receiver, with a better battery life.
