Not their best work, but it is pretty good. If you are new to Slipknot, go with their first album.

Not quite their earlier work but when it gets heavy they're still one of the best.

I've been a fan of Slipknot for many years and this is probably my least faorite album of theirs. It's not as hard-hitting as their previous albums adn sounds more like the songs were made for radio air time. I will always support Slipknot, but I would love them to get back to their roots and make the next album heavy!

Finally, after six long years, three Stone Sour records and the tragic death of bassist Paul Grey, Slipknot is back! This album does not disappoint.. Don't get me wrong, Stone Sour is awesome in their own right but nothing really compares to the raw power and brutal intensity of Slipknot! Their fifth outing, entitled Chapter 5: The Grey Chapter, an aptly named tribute to former bassist Paul Gray is the heavy, non-stop, crushing definition of what the band has always been.. Metal. IMO their best work since Iowa, this is a must own for any real Slipknot fan.

This album is fueled by grief and remembrance of their passed bass player, Paul. It's a tribute to him, lyrically, and a good one at it. Some tracks are predominantly melodic, while thrash tracks like "The Negative One" come pouring down hard and revisit an original sound to that of their older albums with Sid's scratches and mixes on the turntables. .5: The Gray Chapter is by far one of Slipknot's most solid and quintessential albums.

They really went to hell and back with this album. It's heavy, melodic, produced and raw all at the same time. They haven't missed a step despite having to replace 2 members. Corey's vocals are different as well. Not bad, just different. If you're expecting the same scream and growl from previous records be ready to adjust. Shouldn't be hard though. I love it.

This album has a number of great songs on it and captures the raw power and anger of the group while writing this album after the death of Grey. Love "the Devil and I" and "Killpop" but love the raw power and anger in "Custer". Some of the songs are a bit on the profane side (Custer) but I highly recommend this album to anyone looking for some heavy hitting deep metal music.

I can not stop listening to this CD. One of the best written and musically put together arrangement I have heard in a long time. I know the passing of one of their band mates had them at a heavy heart for this one, but you can really feel the pain in the words in some of these songs. A++ to Slipknot.

If you aren't a fan of slipknot, I understand. I used to hate them. But I decided to give em a shot and listened to them for what they are and I was blown away! These 9 guys have talent! (I came in on the third cd). This cd is a mix of Subliminal Versus and Iowa to me. So many awesome tributes to the late paul gray.

FOr those who are waiting for another self titled or Iowa, you probably won't be happy. For those who like to see good progression without problems or changing completely, this album is for you. Singles are great songs, plus the opening track/into is awesome, almost seems scottish/irish in a way.

I really enjoy this CD, I think it is one of there best. I listen to it quite frequently. Some may say it sounds to much like stone sour and some songs do but on a whole I think the disc grabs you and just kicks you in the backside with that slipknot sound we all know and enjoy.

I couldn't wait for the return of Slipknot and with this album, it must have been a struggle for the band. The loss they have endured did however help them to create such a wonderful return. I hear new pieces and parts each time I listen to the album and can't get enough of it.

A lot of emotions from the loss of bassist Paul Grey on this disc many takes of pain , loss, death and trying to go through the aftermath and not really healing but constantly having the scab picked at and torn off and bleeding more and more very powerful lyrics and drums

Was doubtful at first about Slipknot's new album, but now that I've listened to it I am convinced that Slipknot is back with a vengeance. The songs feel raw and powerful. reminding me of their first two albums. If you are now or have ever been a fan, pick up this CD.

This album is amazing from start to finish. Heavy as hell as well as beautifully melodic with that distinct sound that slipknot has created. Nothing is forced and every song just flows throughout the album. The wait for this album was well worth it!!

An exceptional album from Slipknot after the death of a founding member and departure of another. Every member has a chance to shine including the 2 new members. Highly recommended for heavy music fans as well as those unfamiliar with this genre.

.5 the grey chapter is slipknot at their most vulnerable and it makes it that more dangerous. This album is sure to please every fan with its variety and sounds. From the crushingly heavy to songs so emotional it'll bring tears to your eyes.
