Tablet Warranty Rip Off
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid extra for a 2 year warranty on a 150 dollar tablet. It is now broken and I went to use my warranty. They failed to tell me to utilize my warranty I would have to pay 84.95 to ship my damaged item to the repair hub and back to me. Or if they offered to waive that I would have to pay the REPAIR. The fact you are offering this warranty on this tablet when to use it you basically pay for a new one in the cost of warranty and/or shipping/repair. What a rip off to customers. This is also the second tablet that has done what is shown in the photos which is why I decided to pay extra for a warranty and this happens even when we use child protective cases on these.

Expired before the manufacturer’s
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most service plans go into effect after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. This one expires the day before the manufacturer’s warranty expires. Waste of money.

They need to do better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a nightmare to deal with Geek Squad over the freezer I purchased. I got the runaround. I spoke with countless people on getting the freezer repaired/junked. In-store employees were a nightmare. Customers do NOT come first. I want to know how it is that GS doesn't make service calls on smaller freezers. It's not like one can easily pack up a freezer to take into the store for repair/junking. It's rather a safety hazzard to everyone involved. I would recommend GS for other things - but they fail with medium size appliances.

Not really worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall not to happy with this purchase. The basics behind this is if the device can power on then they will work on it but if not then they will offer you an "express replacement" at a preset amount (not ran with current pricing) which in my case was 50 dollars more than the current pricing. In the end it's left to the geek squad's discretion what they do with your device and even though this protection promises a 1 time replacement battery (which is what i wanted) it is not as freely given as advertised,

geek squad refuses to tell me what' going on.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so i went to best buy and bought a tablet because i am having health issues and wanted it so when i am in the hospital i would be in touch with friends. so the salesman says if you buy insurance you will be covered. i asked him if i cracked the screen if it will be covered and he said yes. well a few months go by and i was helping a homeless man with some cash and the tablet fell out of my pocket and the screen was cracked. so i tried to exchange it for a new one and the guy got his boss and she looks at my receipt and says yes he's insured! then she left the building for lunch and the guy totally did a 180 on me and refused to exchange it and was a total assshoollee. so i was looking over the receipt and it says i bought insurance from another company and he did not inform me i had a choice or that i was buying. they have 2 insurances, best buy insurance or geek squad insurance. they sold me geek squad. well so it has been weeks now and when i contact geek squad they tell me it's not their problem and gave me best buy's phone number but in the computer it says geek squad so they refuse to deal with it and they wont look into it.

Falsely advertised protection plan
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They do not replace the device. They only give you a store credit for the price you paid at the time of purchase. I'm not sure why they claim that things are covered when in all actuality the price of purchase and the price today are different so my son will be leaving with no tablet today because we are only getting a gift card for the price we paid for the tablet when we purchased it which is different than the price in store today. That is a very very very falsely advertised product and it's extremely frustrating

They don’t verify personal information!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son has had a couple of Fire tablets and ended up cracking the screen. The warranty has always replaced the tablet and then I just purchase a new warranty for the replacement. We’ve actually replaced a couple until the last time…… my in-laws also have a fire tablet and Best Buy let them have my warranty (they bought their own warranty), so when I needed to replace mine the warranty had already been fulfilled. Yes, we have the same last name but not the same first name or phone numbers. After 2 days of talking to a manager at the store and someone through the 800 customer service number it was never resolved. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Don't buy this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They used to operate differently. When I needed a repair, I could simply send the item to any store or receive a replacement. Now, I can't initiate a service without an appointment, am unable to have a contactless appointment, cannot send a package for diagnosis, am not allowed to leave a package in the store, and can't obtain a replacement. The nearest Best Buy is an hour away from my home. Why must I allocate at least four hours for this appointment and pickup when other services offer repair solutions any time in-store or via package? I have decided not to make any future purchases from Best Buy.

Tablet protection plan was a total rip off
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased my tablet I was talked into the purchase of a 1 year extended warranty. I was informed that it would cover accidental damage to the tablet, including should it crack due to accidentally being dropped. Well I accidentally dropped the tablet and the tablet case cracked. I took it in to the local store and was told it would need to be sent out for repair to replacement. I chose the option to pick it up at the store upon repair. A couple of days I received it returned to me at home without any repair. I was subsequently informed the it would not be repaired as the cracked case did not appear to affect the tablet performance.

Complete crap
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My warranty expired during peak COVID time last year and they were doing appointments only which were three months out and were saying it would take minimum of two weeks to get a new product after said appointment. As a college student that was forced to switch to online for the past year I haven’t had the luxury of not needing my laptop for more then two weeks. They are refusing to do anything for me even though I originally made an appointment during my warranty time. What is the point of buying a warranty for something if a virus is going to keep me from using it? Waste of time and money.

The Geek Squad Protection Plan is worthless!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Geek Squad 2-year protection plan for a Microsoft Surface Pro. The charger cable broke. Geek Squad told me the cable is not covered under the plan. A plan should cover the entire tablet, including the power charger. That is deceptive advertising. I will never purchase another Geek Squad plan. I will never use Geek Squad again. Also, I requested protection plan documentation. They said it would take 2 hours to email it to me. 2 hours! Not a very high-tech squad.

They don't replace, they fix .
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to shop at best buy all the time and get the extended warranty, I stopped doing that when they would "fix" the products, aside from doing a poor job, they would not do exchanges, that changed a couple years ago, and now they are back to "fixing" and still doing a terrible job of it. You can't get ahold of them, and there no updates, so don't waste your time or money, go somewhere else and buy it.

Geek Squad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I came in to return the tablet I brought for my daughter , the young lady at the register took the tablet to the back to see if GEEK SQUAD could handle the issue. ( unlocking the tablet , my daughter forgot the password & I was returning the item). When the young lady returned from the back she stated “ THEY ACT LIKE THEY CANT FIX IT “ as a customer I’m only going to assume they could but they didn’t . When I heard that statement . This was the first time I actually paid for GEEK SQUAD services . Don’t think I will any more .

Awful service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Geek Sqaud accidental policy for my Samsung Tab S3. The stylus tip broke. I went to Best Buy to get a new one through the insurance I purchased. The technicians couldn't find the stylus in their system. Got the run around. Service was terrible to say the least. I now have to spend $60 to buy a stylus. So what a great business model. Sell a policy, don't maintain any of the accessories (that you say are covered) in your system, so when a customer comes in you can throw your hands up in the air and say "I can't find it." That way you don't have to honor anything.

BAH HUMBUG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so dissatisfied with Best Buy and the Geek Squad ! I inquired before I purchased anything, about getting the Tablets we were going to order set up , like screen protector, SD card and function and operation, so my grand kids could hit the internet running Christmas morning. I was assured that the Geek squad would do all that. Well little did I know that there is a charge for each and everything they do ! Purchasing 600 dollars worth of merchandise carried no weight, the Geek squad representative on duty December 7th at 7:00 pm at the Hawley Lane store was unsympathetic, rude and not interested in any type of help unless we were charged. The Customer Service agent that processed our return of all the items we purchased was super nice and helpful. I am done with Best Buy and will discourage everyone I can from going there.

Mail-In Repair
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a tablet screen that needed to be repaired under the plan. I used the mail-in repair service that was included with the plan. First time I ordered the box to ship the item, it never came and customer service claims I never ordered the box. Second time I ordered the box, it finally came and the item was sent in for repair. I was supposed to get text updates, but never got one. I contacted BestBuy since it seemed to be taking awhile and was told the item was shipped back awhile ago repaired. Come to find out, they sent it to the address I was at when I bought the item instead of the updated address they sent the repair box to. Every time I contact BestBuy now, they give me someone new to talk to. I have spent over 30 hours trying to resolve this with BestBuy since I made my first call.

Waste of time and money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So the first year is factory one year warranty. So they sometimes wont touch it that first year. So you paid for a year you cant use. Then after the second year your tv is obsolete. So it doesn't matter. If your screen starts going bad like mine did, you have best buy come over and instead of replacing the tv, no they order a screen to replace the old one. The of course time the shipping to kill the rest of the time you have remaining on your warranty and finally install the screen on this tv, and enjoy! Any issues call us within the 2 weeks you have left on your warranty. Guess what? My tv is burning out again.
