I have protection on my tablet and laptop. I brought my tablet in for a hard reset, and the guy even didn't try or ask for information about the tablet. I had better experience with my laptop ( they sent it out for repair), the total cost of repair would've been comparable to purchasing a new similar laptop.

I was able to get insurance on my laptop as well as my kids tablet.

I have purchased Geek Squad service for my high-value devices and the few times I have required service have been positive experiences, it is easy and quick to schedule a service appointment, repairs are done in an acceptable time and if not They are capable of repairing and replacing the product with a totally new one of the same or similar commercial value depending on the situation.

The Geek Squad rocks! I have not had to use Geek Squad protection for this product, but I have used it elsewhere. They are very helpful when you have an issue. The Geek squad at my local store took the time to help fix my dad's laptop power button that got messed up when he dropped it. He actually did not have the protection, but his laptop was brand new and he was pretty upset that he had dropped it. They fixed it, no charge! We were both very pleased that they took the time. That act of goodwill went a long way for both of us.
I don't buy the protection plan on everything, but there are times when I wish I would have. My rule of thumb is to buy it if the product is expensive and you are going to use it everyday, especially if you intend to use it in harsh environments.

Good value for the peace of mind that the Accidental Protection plan offers. I don't have to worry if something accidentally happens that damages my Surface Go 2 device. I bought the plan after the device arrived so had to bring the device to a store to have its condition confirmed before I was able to add the plan. It would have been helpful to have a note during the online device purchase process specifying that there would not be an option to add the protection plan online after the device is delivered. I've used Geek Squad services over several years for other items - excellent resource.

I am happy now that it's all over but I was not happy with Geek Squad. My brand new laptop that was still under warranty got a virus and Geek Squad could not fix it. I had taken it 4 times to have it fixed and they could not get it fixed. On the 5th trip I asked for a replacement (rightfully so under the warranty guidelines) and they would not do it. I had to get ugly. Finally, the store manager, Justin at the Hoover, Alabama location handled the situation for me. He was great! He transferred all of my stuff to my new laptop at no charge to me. He did the right thing since I had paid so much for the warranty! Very thankful for him.

I recommend you purchasing the extended warranty. Best Buy/Geek Squad have the best customer service and help get any situation you hve with your tablet taken care of immediately. I will always buy from them and make sure to purchase that 2yr warranty.
