I love John Goodman and I also love apocalyptic tales, so this one was a no brainer for me! We went to see it in the movies and I was happy to have it in my collection once it was released on Blu-ray. As humorous as John Goodman is in Roseanne, Blues Brothers 2000, and the like, he is equally unsettling in this film. You never quite know if he's well prepared or just plain crazy, and I like a film that keeps me guessing. Only three main players in the movie, but great performances all around and despite the mostly singular setting, the environment never gets boring to watch. Loved the ending! Blu-ray quality is outstanding with a beautiful picture, crisp lines and well saturated colors. If you're a fan of Mr. Goodman or just enjoy a fun apocalyptic romp through the wastelands, I highly recommend this film!

    10 Cloverfield Lane

10 Cloverfield Lane is a fantastic motion picture, a core human interest story of survival and the unknown, of mysterious intentions and circumstances. Every area of the movie excels, whether considering writing, direction, production design, or performances. There are some surprises and a few turns that aren't hard to see coming, but the net value of the movie is very high, blending physiological chills with hypothetical survival scenarios and more broadly entertaining moviemaking. The cast is great, with Goodman leading the charge in one of the best works of his storied career. Paramount's Blu-ray release of 10 Cloverfield Lane offers solid video, reference Atmos audio, and a very nice complimentary selection of bonus materials, including an A-grade commentary track. Very highly recommended.

I was a big fan on Cloverfield (despite a lot of reviews claiming otherwise) so I always had my eye on this one. I thought it would just be another "Godzilla" in that, monster shows up and destroys a ton but humanity remains. I read a few reviews and decided to pick this up. I was pleasantly surprised. It lives within the Cloverfield "universe" but is compiled of it's own story. I could see both fans of the original Cloverfield loving it and even people that didn't care for Cloverfield liking this one. It's unique and a good thriller. P.S. After watching this I went to Netflix and watched The Cloverfield Paradox ("Cloverfield 3"). It ties all 3 together even more and makes room for a multitude of avenues to go in future movies.

that is all you need to know this movie is perfect this movie is not even a horror movie but it feels so close to it. it is so suspenseful, it had me guessing at every turn! i sat down and enjoyed it the whole way! my friends didnt like it, they kept telling me they knew what was going to happen here and there, if you're going to be guessing stuff and not pay attention to the movie then don't bother watching this, there is no acting on the movie it is all dialogue. mary elizabeth winstead is as amazing as goodman this whole movie was a hidden gem one of my favorite movie of all time

    Monsters Come In Many Forms........

I hadn't read any reviews when I purchased this title outside of one where Producer J.J. Abrams stated that while this was not a sequel to Cloverfield but was definitely a 'blood-relative' to it. The actors all performed excellently, especially John Goodman. While not a lot of action during the first two thirds of the movie, the suspense was built up very effectively. The tagline 'Monsters come in many forms' is certainly apt and leaves the main character suspicious of Goodman's motives. However, without giving away any spoilers, the last third of the film takes a surprising and unexpected twist. This is an excellent film if you take it for what it is & own it's own merits, with a great storyline and fine acting. A worthy addition to the Cloverfield cannon.

In my eyes, in my opinion, this is one of the greatest movies ever made! You might have a different opinion and might disagree with me but hear me out. This movie takes place in just one place. It’s story is straight forward, and driven by solid characters. John Goodman sent chills down my spine. The dialogue between the three characters was very engaging. All up until the ending is where the cgi comes up, now am not a big fan of it but hey every movies has some now a days. This comes to show that you don’t need action, gun fights, car chases, the works to have a great movie, all you need is a great cast, and engaging dialogue to make it work! ..... and by the way... cloverfield paradox sucksss

This is a great movie, with the powerful and commanding performance by John Goodman and the excellent Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Gallagher Jr. was great too. The picture and sound are absolutely incredible with the 1080p resolution and Dolby Atmos sound. The steelbook itself is great, I love the artwork used on the front, back, and interior. I also like how they put the blu ray disc on the easier to remove spool on this steelbook, sometimes it can be tricky to get them out but here, it's a breeze.

10 Cloverfield Lane succeeds in ways so many feel it never could; especially considering the time between films and the lack of promotion for this latest installment. Thankfully, the team behind Bad Robot and crew proved all the doubters wrong by subverting our expectations and giving us a completely different kind of film; nothing like the original. John Goodman is fantastic as the unstable ‘keeper of the keys’ and the entire supporting cast delivers in every way. The claustrophobic atmosphere and simple, minimal story lend more tension and mystery to give us a great film!

Goodman is sinister good. Quirky, scary, spooky and unpredictable. You never really know, maybe suspect, but maybe not. Good false clues and good writing at times. But, com'on. Seriously! The ending is about as weird as it gets. My wife thinks I am crazy for saying this was an interesting film. She hated it. I stayed with it until its unpredictable end. Recommended only because of the acting. Not necessarily the story.

The original Cloverfield film was a pleasant surprise, using the 'found footage' formula to deliver something teeming with hidden Easters eggs and loose ends. Although many years after the original was released, the arrival of 10 Cloverfield Lane after its announcement happened so fast that the allure of a sequel of any sort was high. But, as with the original, the movie's formula allows it to be its own film, yet asks so many more questions and has so many Easter eggs that it makes the franchise a fantastic jigsaw puzzle. I'd argue that 10 Cloverfield Lane is significantly stronger than its predecessor, based on performances alone. It keeps you guessing to the last minute!

Version includes DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital copies of film. Bonus features are about 1hr of "making of" style features and audio commentary on film. I like this movie because it defies genra categorization. It twists and turns through drama, thriller, horror, and sci-fi; constantly keeping you guessing. When you think you know where the movie is going, it takes a 90 degree turn and heads off in another direction. This is not a continuation of the original Cloverfield. A nice change from the current remake trend.

i think most people thought the Cloverfield franchise was dead in the water, the genre fans who wanted a sequel felt they'd never get one, but then 10 Cloverfield Lane pops up out of nowhere and the die hard fans of the original and sic fi fans in general went wild. What's great is through this film shares virtually no connection to the first Cloverfield the story here is extremely solid, with or without the added mythology elements this movie still holds up as a fantastic drama and a showcase of top notch performance from all the actors involved.

Even without the name association of 2008's found-footage monster caper, 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE is a tense, claustrophobic, ticking time-bomb thriller, highlighted by pitch-perfect performances from Mary Elizabeth Winstead and the national treasure that is John Goodman, that at several instances happily turns the tables on where you think the story is going. Its sole stumbling point is its final ten minutes which, while making good on the tagline warning "monsters come in many forms", are atonal to the movie it's attached to.

i did not know much about the movie before i saw it. i had a few shocks that i did not pick up on in viewing it but realized it after the fact. i felt sorry for the people in the control of the john goodman character. i have never really like john goodman but he did make a great creepy predator. you wonder at first but the farther along you do understand it. finally near the end you find out what is going on to put them in the bunker. it moves along at a steady pace and takes you from one place to another.
