10 Cloverfield Lane would not have been a very successful film without "Cloverfield" in the title. It is a interesting premise and a great cast. But let's face it, not many people were expecting the film that we received. John Goodman's chilling performance added to the claustrophobic feel that the film had. Tension builds as the film goes on and once you think that it's gone, it spikes up. This isn't a monster movie like its predecessor. This is a monster movie dealing with the monsters inside of every day people.

There's enough twists and turns in this film to make it worth your while. I found the build up in some of the scenes pay off in a big way. Just don't expect it be a direct sequel to the original Cloverfield, but it is a worthy entry in what appears to be a series .Winstead gives a strong performance as a captive who never gives up her fight. Goodman strikes a fine balance between nurturing caregiver and frightening captor, even if, to the detriment of the story, his end game is never really made clear.

Although it may share in name, this movie is definitely not a traditional follow-up to Cloverfield. It is a smaller, more tense thriller that mostly takes place in a basement/underground bunker during the aforementioned movie. I purchased it on a blind buy, and although I appreciate it for what it is, it is not exactly my cup of tea. On a plus note, this disc comes with a digital copy for both 10 Cloverfield Lane as well as the original Cloverfield. Decent disc all around, but not too comprehensive.

I thought this was a very good movie. It was interesting, and very entertaining for sure. The actors performed their roles just how they should. The only thing about this film I did not like is the name. They made it seem to be a sequel to the original Cloverfield movie, and unless there was some super hidden stuff, it was not. So, if you did not like, or have not seen Cloverfield, give this a try. I think you will like it. If you have seen, and liked the original, still give this a try.

When I got to the store to pick up this steelbook, I loved it so much upon seeing it... I looked over at the few remaining copies on the shelf and grabbed a second to keep sealed. Now granted, I am a huge Cloverfield/10 Cloverfield Lane fan, but this is just a super cool steelbook. I also got oddly lucky and had two digital copy code sheets in the one I opened. Never had that happen before. Gave the second code to a friend. This is a quality blu-ray release, and the steelbook is just cool to look at. Definitely worth picking up if you're into steelbooks.

I had to watch this movie twice in a row I was so suprised that loved it so much. It's not what you expect it to be and the suspence and terror is very subtle and all consuming for most of the movie. Thats all ill say about that, if you havent seen it go do that right now. John Goodman is quite simply amazing as the main antagonist. There's a good number of extras included, as well as an exploration of the Cloverfield concept that the design team have in mind (bringing this movie and the monster film Cloverfield together... sortof).

Great follow-up to the original Cloverfield. While not really a sequel, it is more of in the same universe as Cloverfield. Very intense and thrilling movie. Man (John Goodman) has a fallout shelter that he shares with two people. He tells them there has been an attack and it's not safe to go outside. Is he telling the truth? Has there really been an attack? Is he what he seems? Very good acting and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Very highly recommended.

Well, perhaps Shin Godzilla aside, that is. This movie was truly stunning. It was tense, thrilling, intense, and shocking, in all the best ways. It didn't tease for jump scares, it just created a sense of almost comfortable dread. I honestly screamed like a girl in the theater (no insult to women, I'm just a 21 year old man) and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. And I collect steelbook editions of my favorite movies, so naturally this had to join my collection. Highly recommended to anyone who wants a solid thriller.

I loved the steelbook design as soon as I saw it, but hadn't seen the movie, so I decided to gamble on a blind buy. The movie kinda went off the rails in the third act, but still has some rewatch potential so I'm holding onto it. Plus this steelbook artwork is just so well designed, lots of fun to show off. It's a high-quality official Steelbook brand and has a nice matte finish. If you enjoyed the movie and can find this, definitely pick it up!

Fun movie pitting an Alien Invasion & Mary Elizabeth Winstead against each other. She disposes of John Goodman quickly and all he was trying to do was help! Afterwards she builds a serious relationship with duct tape and hits the road at the end of the movie driving across America to spread the word on the wonders of duct tape. At least that is what I think happened because I fell asleep during parts of the movie. I like duct tape as much as the next red blooded American but this movie had way too much duct tape.

(No spoilers in this review) 10 Cloverfield Lane is a good time at the movies. VERY suspenseful, with a terrific performance by John Goodman. Officailly this is a sequel to Cloverfiled, but the connection is tenuous, and all in the final few minutes. With a more conventional ending this would have been a fine stand-alone thriller. Either way, it's a lot of fun. The blu-ray itself is excellent -- picture and sound are outstanding. If you're looking for some nail-biting hi-def fun, go get it!

10 Cloverfield Lane is in the same world as the Cloverfield movie, but takes a very different approach. We are placed in a whatif scenario where someone "rescued" from an apocalyptic situation has to determine if the apocalypse has actually come or if she is a prisoner of a maniac. Tension builds to a satisfying climax that leads to an unexpected ending. The Best Buy exclusive steelbook packaging is eye catching and worth picking up.

10 Cloverfield Lane is an intense drama with compelling characters in a claustrophobic setting. John Goodman is especially excellent and unsettling in his role. Aside from the movie itself, this steelbook has a unique design that puts the mass market release to shame. If you're a fan of the movie, the steelbook is worth the purchase!

John Goodman obviously runs the show (in all ways) here as a survivalist nut with the best bunker on the block. His own ulterior motives unfold with eerie, tension-building precision as we spend most of the movie trapped with him & his "guests" in said bunker. I love this as a sequel/tie-in to CLOVERFIELD, because it's nothing like that movie but manages to inhabit & expand upon that storyline uniquely.

I wasn't a huge fan of the movie Cloverfield so I was a bit skeptical about this movie. This movie was great! Very suspenseful and a great standalone movie. If you've seen the original Cloverfield forget about it before watching this movie. If you haven't seen Cloverfield then definitely buy this movie first! The sound effects and acting were great! Especially John Goodman! Definitely a great movie to watch on any occasion.

Except for its allusion in title, this fascinating movie defies genre; is it a psychological thriller, suspense mystery, maniacal serial-abductor murderer, apocalyptic survivalism, science fiction, or a brilliant synthesis that teases, teases, and teases until its startling premise is revealed? If this movie intrigues and pleases you, you will be tantalized until the next episode! I believe we have another capable and formidable Ripley right down here on Earth in the present!

Such a great performance by John Goodman. They guy can just look so mean sometimes. This movie didn't have to be part of the Cloverfield universe (in fact it wasn't originally) to be a great movie on it's own. Has a good amount of suspense and the tension between John and Mary is palpable. Not that much action until the end, and really not much of a psycho thriller either, it just has the right amount of both to end up being very entertaining.

I had never heard of 10 Cloverfield Lane, but saw it referenced on Eli Roth's the History of Horror. Initially after watching the movie, I wondered whether the lead character made the right decision. After giving it some thought, I believe they did. Interesting movie!

If you enjoyed the original Cloverfield you will probably like this one, though it's nothing like the original and actually doesn't depend on you having seen it. It keeps you guessing whether one of the characters is crazy and imagining things or if something's really going on and then... well, I won't ruin any surprises. Great acting from John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Keeps you engaged even though there are only 3 central characters to occupy the screen

A well written, tense, sci fi thriller that has nothing to do with the first Cloverfield. It has the feel of a modern twighlight zone which is what I believe the producers are aiming for. Goodman is an under rated and well done character who makes the film believable and his supporting cast was well done as well. They manage to keep your interest the entire movie most of which is spent inside a bunker.
