Great Sound,paired with certain Lg soundbar,it’s worth the money,sound goes out for 1 or 2 seconds .

To get thd full effect of our new home theatre we decided to add surround sound to our sound bar. We are very pleased with the dramatic surround sound of this system.

Nice small compact system sound is very good but could have more bass Wireless rear speakers do require a wire running from rear module to speakers setup was very easy paired immediately sound is very good for a small system not quite like Sonos or Bose but for the price they cannot be beat highly recommended

BLUF: If you aren't in the market for a full audio system setup (i.e., AV receiver plus speakers for 7.1/5.1, etc.), but want a great, easy, and cost-effective audio upgrade, then pairing these speakers with the SJ4Y or SJ5Y soundbars is the right option for you! They more than get the job done with ease. I'm a happy customer that would purchase again! NOW for the full review: I have a some experience with speaker setups. In my old house, I personally ran wires behind drywall and in the attic to install a 600W 5.1 system. But I moved to another city for a job, and I was looking for a cheaper and easier solution for the time being. I decided on the SJ5Y for several reasons. (1) price, (2) good balance of price vs output (wattage per speaker), (3) ease of adding wireless, true surround speakers, (4) Dolby, DTS, and FLAC decoders, (5) connection options - HDMI in & out, optical, and bluetooth, and (6) it looks good and matches my LG TV. Rear speaker setup is very simple. Plug in audio cables between the rear speakers and rear receiver. Cables are color coded (gray and blue) to help sort out L and R. Plug in the rear receiver, and voila, you are done. The rear receiver paired automatically with the SJ5Y soundbar for me. Distance from the rear receiver to the soundbar is about 20 feet. Once I downloaded and installed the updated firmware via USB, as well as threw out the pack-in optical cable and used a quality one, the system's sound interruptions stopped once and for all. ALSO, yes, please note that there are wires between the rear receiver and the speakers themselves. If you saw "wireless" and assumed there was no wires at all, then sorry to disappoint you. Battery-powered bluetooth speakers can't handle the sound output needed for a system like this. The wireless rear receiver means you don't need to connect the soundbar to the rear speakers directly. The rear receiver can be placed anywhere (within reason - it has a 6ft power cable) and the included speaker wires are at least 10ft. You can buy longer wire at the store if you really need it. Sound quality is exceptional and clear for what it is - 60W per channel. Again, coming from a larger, more expensive 5.1 setup, I can tell the difference between output and range/fullness for the individual speakers. BUT, I was VERY IMPRESSED at what this system can do. This soundbar is easily able to fill the room. I have yet to even come close to maxing out the volume on this baby, and expect I never will. The Adaptive Sound Control (ASC) is my preferred sound mode for TV shows - it enhances voices very well - but I switch it over to BASS while listening to music to help get a more robust range of highs and lows. For my movies and games, I usually change my sound mode to STANDARD. The CINEMA option is OK, but I think it tries to widen the sound field too much, causing some distraction for me. I experimented with my game console outputting uncompressed 7.1 audio over HDMI. The SJ5Y soundbar was able to handle all that data and push it out to the different channels superbly. So I am able to hear that wonderful behind-the-head zooming fly-by or ambient noise when the protagonist is in a crowded room. My movies and games sound wonderful; oh, how I had missed surround sound!

This review is in conjunction with the rear speaker units. Got the bundle for a great price at Best Buy. Sound quality is much better than my stock LG TV. Set-up was very easy but a couple things of note. The Subwoofer is wireless and can be placed anywhere near an outlet. The back speakers are wired to a central box which can also be put anywhere near a plug. Those wires for the rear speakers are the biggest hurdle in trying to hide if you are looking for that totally wireless look.

I bought these to enhance the LG sound bar and wireless subwoofer. Reviews were OK and my experience has been excellent. I was able to place the receiver in an almost invisible place and attached the speakers to the wall easily. They fired right up and have worked fine. I am in a place where I can't turn it up or get crazy, so for tv and movies they are fine.

First of all, this is the 2 channel system NOT the, more expensive, full 5.1 channel surround system. You can add rear speakers (I did) and you get rear surround but its "mock" surround. That being said, its very difficult to hear that it is not full surround. The system does do a very good job at filling in the rear channel with what it believes is needed and it sounds great. The Subwoofer connects by Bluetooth and so do the rear speakers. Connect an LG Smart TV and you can control the soundbar directly from the TV remote making life WAY easier. Sounds is clear and speech is easy to discern. The bass is deep enough without overpowering and it does a decent job of balancing music with other elements. All in all, great value.

I was in the process of buying the LG Soundbar SJ4Y-S. I was price matching on my phone and saw that Walmart had the Soundbar and surround sound speaker kit for $80 cheaper. I talked to a Best Buy employee and they said they would price match. The Soundbar alone is great. When you add the surround sound kit, it’s even better. Must buy the kit with the Soundbar.

We bought these as a matched set with an LG Sound bar and subwoofer set and they connected immediately and work perfectly. The sound is flawless and the price is very reasonable.

This particular product works as an add-on to an LG line of Soundbars. It halos extend a 2.1 channel surround sound system to a 4.1 channel system giving greater fidelity to the content played through it. Incredible strong sound from a minuscule device. The cost was also highly affordable.

I bought this to go with my LG soundbar & subwoofer, to complete my surround sound system. Once i connected the speakers to the box and turned everything on, it automatically synched. They have great sound quality. I ended up needing additional speaker wire for optimal speaker placement and sound quality. It comes with a small amout, but Depending on the size of your area more than likely more would be required.

Bought this to add to my office tv and have been very satisfied for the sound quality and style. Especially true sine it was so reasonably priced. Not sure I would use as my primary family room set, but great for other spaces.

Easy setup works great good quality sound and good price

I went in looking to just buy a sound bar but the associate told me that he had these as an open box model and that they worked for the model I was buying. I couldn’t pass up the price on them so I bought them. No regrets at all. I plugged the wireless receiver and they instantly connected to my sound bar. They sound amazing and really give the surround sound feel

I got these speakers for free when I purchased the soundbar & subwoofer. Great deal! Terrific sound from such little speakers and you can control how loud they are (as a pair, not individually). They were so easy to set up, color coordinated speaker wires. The enclosed directions were not good, so I was able to download more complete instructions on the LG website.

Satellites were included as a rebate at no charge with sound bar purchase. Good sound- easy set up. Wireless receiver makes placement a snap. Speakers located nearby with wire from receiver to satellites.

So yes I am a little blonde but however it was really unclear if the speakers could work by themselves or if you have to have a sound bar to use them. I had called Best Buy, lg, and even used google everyone said it should work without a sound bar. After about a day or two of working with the speakers, I noticed a very tiny spot on the box that instructed to use it with a specific soundbar. ....Now I ended up returning it, but given if I had the right soundbar it would have been perfect. Would have been an easy set up as well.

Got this kit for free when I purchased an LG sound bar on sale. Easy set-up and seamlessly works with my Samsung tv. Most audio sources, apart from movies, only produce sound out of front sound bar (unless surround setting is turned on). Movies and some tv shows output like a 5.1 surround sound system. Happy with overall performance. You can always hear a faint white noise coming from speakers when powered on but not producing sound. Auto turn on/off with sound bar without any additional controls.

Best Buy had a sale where if you buy select LG sound bars you would receive the surround speakers for free. I took advantage and bought the SJ5Y-S and the surround kit. I would say that the surround speakers help fill a medium sized room, where as just the sound bar would fill a small room nicely. Only real complaint is that they lose connectivity every so often and that can get annoying at times. Over all I am satisfied with my purchase. Good sound for the price point.

Great sound. Only wish that the speakers were completely wireless. This set comes with 3 parts- the receiver which plugs in and is connected via Bluetooth to the sound bar and then the receiver is connected by wires to the speakers. No big deal it’s just that the cats like the thin wires and I worry they will chew them up- had to tape them to the wall. Otherwise sounds great and feels like I’m in a theatre. Still not used to them because I’ll hear laughing or background noise behind me and It scares me sometimes but then i realize it’s just the surround sound.
