This Best Buy Deluxe version is the definitive version to get, as it includes two CDs with a total of twelve tracks, whereas the non-deluxe version only has eight. There is also a pretty cool T-shirt sporting the "13" logo and is a must have for the die hard Sabbath fan. Best Buy offers all of this packaged and available for $29.99 plus tax. In comparing this Best Buy Deluxe version, with twelve songs, to the other Deluxe release, which has 11 songs, there is only one bonus track difference but it's "the" bonus track to have and you'll kick yourself for not getting the version with "Naivete in Black". I ordered online and picked up the CDs at my local Best Buy on the same day.
Now, regarding the music, this album features the classic Sabbath lineup, with the exception of Brad Wilk sitting in for Bill Ward on drums. Wilk has paid his dues with such bands as "Rage Against the Machine" and "Audioslave" and "Black Sabbath 13" rocks as a result. The album will kick your a** and, moreover, transport you back to the early days of Sabbath. In my opinion, this album could be the second cousin once removed relative to "Master Of Reality" and there are also nods to "Black Sabbath" and "Paranoid". This is, in no small part, due to Brad Wilk, who has done an amazing job of staying true to the Bill Ward style of drumming.
Ozzy is singing in a lower register on most of the songs but his voice is spot on and, as is his nature, his vocals go with the flow of the signature Iommi riffs and Butler bass lines. Again, to me, the songs are highly reminiscent of the band's early albums and it's wonderfully weird to be reminded of the early 70's, which was when these guys invented this style of music. Of course, the band consciously sought to go back in time and write songs from that era, including a track entitled "Zeitgeist" (spirit of the time) in the style of "Planet Caravan", which eerily contributes to this "Sequel of Reality".
"Black Sabbath 13" is not what I would call a commercial album by any stretch of the imagination so you won't find any catchy little songs like "Paranoid". In fact, most of the songs subscribe to a much slower to moderate tempo and average well over seven minutes, with the exception of the bonus track, "Naivete in Black", which is a shorter balls-to-the-wall rocker. Overall, it's a very heavy album regardless of the tempos and you're sure to hear references to other Sabbath albums on future playings of this one. It's time to get your Sabbath on and you'll receive a better value with what is offered exclusively by Best Buy. Geez, now I have a craving for "Sweetleaf" - the song, not the smoke. :-)

I didn't pay for expedited shipping and still got this bundle on the release date. The shirt is high quality and the bonus song(s) are awesome. This was also a better price than ordering through the Black Sabbath website and included the "exclusive" Best Buy song. So, absolutely no complaints. If you like the old Back Sabbath with Ozzy, you will love this album. I've been listening all day and can't get enough. I would recommend this album and Best Buy Exclusives.
