    Propaganda?

Setting aside any political leanings you may have might prove to be as difficult as forgetting that you're watching a Michael Bay movie. The events depicted in this movie are so fresh that the very existence of 13 Hours might come across as a bit insensitive. Honestly I can't make heads or tails of how I feel as an outsider watching this. I want to believe that 13 Hours is more than just hero worship & is actually honoring the men & women who were there that fateful night but I just don't know. 13 Hours as a movie is riveting from start to finish & as an individual you'll just have to decide for yourself where you stand or whether it's worth watching at all.

    Interesting Film

Great production values, sound and visual quality. I'd read the book that inspired the movie so was familiar with the content, and that said, at some points I was still confused as to what was going on. Worth watching, especially if you don't read the book. One thing I did note is that the film tried to stay away from any significant political commentary or finger pointing, which in the end probably made the film more enjoyable.

    Not Enough Fire Power

From beginning to end, I felt our soldiers were doomed from the very start. I must admit that I am a commando type of movie guy. I truly enjoy rooting for our side. The fire fight was overwhelming. I asked myself, whom do you trust when it comes to intel. Your sources out on the field or our commanding officers. Pay close attention to the dialog as the movie progress and come up with your own conclusions.

I purchased this movie hoping for a total action movie. It is based on a true story and lags at times. The story is good but is fractured in parts by the way it was told making a simple strait forward story a little hard to follow. You feel for the people involved because of the pure grim nature of what they went through. It is not a movie I will watch over and over but worth watching at least once.

    Entertaining...but that's it...

First off, it's a Michael Bay film...so you know what you're getting. This film was decent enough with Jim from The Office (I know, I know, John Krasinski) starting his action hero role in this fictionalization of the Benghazi attack. I wish Bay had stuck to making a film without any political assertions. A decent "docu"-film...but nowhere near the class of the FAR SUPERIOR Black Hawk Down from almost 20 years ago.

One of Michael Bay's better films...

This is definitely one of Bay's more serious films than his mindless Transformer flicks made for juvenile, but it's nowhere near the quality of other films about modern warfare like Black Hawk Down, Hurt Locker, or American Sniper. As with most of his works, MB seems more focused on delivering flashy and highly stylized action scenes over substance and coherency. More enjoyable than the transformer flicks but still falls short compared to its peers.

The 4 stars are mainly for the action scenes. Dialogue could've been better so don't expect greatness. Have seen it quite a few times already since purchase. Could've used more Special Features about the action, weapons and military aspects, which I always find interesting. But what was in was better than nothing, I guess. The ones included could've been longer and more in-depth in detail.

    Hard to Believe

This movie had too many fake things to count. The soldiers in the firefights never wore their Kevlar helmets or their ballistic eyewear. I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan and I never saw anyone do that. Lots of other odd stuff that real soldiers don't do. Like calling an AK47 an "assault rifle". So Hollywood.

This was actual as the movie jacket says, but the movie was very confusing and hard to follow. I sure hope these poor individuals weren't in the mess depicted, but I guess they were while Sec of State and Pres were in Las Vegas for fund raising. Recommend folks look up history of the event on web before watching film - those poor souls!

Good movie, I would pay to watch this again. It is quite violent so those who are not fond of violence I wouldn’t suggest this....

If you really want insight into the Benghazi incident, read the book first. Then watch the Hollywood version played out in this movie. The acting is good, the action set pieces are okay, nothing you haven't sen before if you've watched any of Michael Bay's movies.

The movie draws you in and makes you feel like you were there on that fateful night. Without getting overly political, it informs the viewer of what happened in riveting detail. It leaves the "why did this happen and who is to blame" for the viewer to decide.

Great shootout scenes but lacking character depth. Didn't really care for who they are and makes me less sympathetic when someone dies. if you are looking for shootouts this is a good movie. If you are looking for action plus character depth look elsewhere.

Good tale of "We tried to tell you". I was expecting a politicized account of this much discussed chapter of American history.Very little politics and tons of spotlight where it belonged on the brave Americans who's story they are trying to tell.

By no means bad, just painfully bland. The post 9/11 war film genre is littered w/ great films. Unfortunately, 13 Hours is not one of them. If it weren't for the steelbook case, I wouldn't have purchased this.

Gave DVD to my son to watch and keep. Works fine. Brought the Blue ray copy home and it won't play. Tried on 3 different machines and still a no go. Wasn't happy about that. Have to take back for a replacement.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is a comparatively mature and restrained effort from Michael Bay, albeit one that can't quite boast the impact its fact-based story deserves.

When placed into light the 13 hours steelbook looks ugly. The glare can be a pass it and enjoy it. But I'm rating the packaging, not the movie
