This is a nice low cost option if you want a 17" screen under $700. The price is basically for the screen size. Hardware it compares to many 15.6" brands/models that have more features, better hardware, better configured. This has what you need to do everything, including light gaming. Things it misses is only 1, 8GB DDR4 2133 ram stick which slows the memory to single channel. The 1 TB hard drive makes it very slow during the 5 minute boot time in stock form! The wifi is an older chip with an incredibly weak max of 72mp/s, while the hard wire option is a full 1G. Out of the box it has an OEM upgraded version of Windows 10 Home which took 3 hours to finish setup. Between that & the weak wi-fi most would return it by now. As a tech, I immediately installed a Samsung 250GB SSD & removed all the "bloatware" this came with. After that, it runs nicely for what it is. An aftermarket wi-fi stick like the Linksys WUSB6300 can get the speed up to 144mb/s. Overall, I predict a high return rate just based on the weak wi-fi & lengthy setup. If you have patience, it's a good deal for a huge screen, HDMI out, USB 3.1, Bluetooth 4.0, & some upgrades will future proof it. Simple in design, easy to work on, a bit pricey if you expect a "turn key" laptop. Expect to wait at least 3 hours for it to finish updating & do remove a ton of "bloatware" to reduce the boot time if you aren't going to put an SSD in. Side note, add another 8GB stick of ram to get dual channel operation.

So far I have been well pleased with this laptop. There has been a little learning to get used to Windows 10. The Geek Squad at the store was extremely helpful in getting my files transferred from the old laptop and in helping me with the new features. I don't do online gaming, so didn't need a top of the line, all bells and whistles model. There is plenty of memory and speed for what I need.

I purchased this computer to use for remote monitoring of a broadcast system. The processing speed is perfect for my use. The screen is fine and overall the unit seems to work great. I probably wouldn't purchase this is a "backpack laptop" because it doesn't feel too sturdy or well built

Solid large screen laptop. Easy setup and enough memory to make Windows 10 work well for an under $500 system.

I got this laptop for my son for his school projects. It has a nice large screen and pretty good performance.

This laptop was to make my old laptop a backup for my business. So I wanted something with good specs and a larger screen within a budget. I like to stick with HP and this was the one that fit the bill! Now this laptop is my primary, with my other being a backup. Love the look and feel of it, though it does show finger prints on the outside casing more than I'd like... but that's a simple wipe down. Other than that, it's ran smoothly the last few months!

Probably wouldn't buy this again. It works fine but the battery only lasts 1.5 hours. They said I would have to buy a bigger cell battery for it to last longer. I like that it has a DVD player built in.

We were looking for a laptop to replace our daughter's old one from over 10 years ago. This HP Laptop had the high quality components at the mid range price that our budget allowed. We would recommend this laptop to anyone and the bigger screen is great for movie watching.

Like the idea of a laptop so I can take it with me. Especially like the size of the screen.
