Let's hope we don't need to use this plan. But if we do, there are plenty of BestBuy stores around you can just walk into and actually deal with a person and not have to talk to someone on the phone. Most stores the Geek Squad guys are real easy to deal with. Price of the plan is very competitive when you pay for the full plan up front and don't spread it out with monthly payments.

A Good Idea?

I had to replace my last phone because I broke the screen so I figured the protection plan would be a good idea. I have not used the protection plan on an IPhone, but I have on a Samsung S4 and Best Buy was very helpful and easy to work with. I was given a new phone immediately when I brought in the old one that was not functioning.

Covers more than Verizon’s insurance.

I dropped my Verizon insurance and chose the Geek Squad insurance for the simple fact that it covers liquid damage. Verizon doesn’t. I have yet to use the coverage, but it is definitely better than what Verizon offers.

So I break my phone go in to Best Buy because usually they give you a replacement on the spot, which I thought they would do. NOT WITH PHONES. told me it would take 3 to 5 days to get replacement. Luckly I had not dropped my Asurion plan. They got me a phone the next day!

I originally bought Geek Squad black tie protection on an iPhone 6 with the promise that all would be covered by Best Buy. Now they no longer offer it, and when I talked to them about a cracked screen, they would only send it out for 2 week repair and an additional $200 charge. Given that you can repair glass locally same day for $100, I said no, and asked for a pro-rated refund. Very disappointing.

After a year and a half the phones battery went bad. I was told when bought this insurance every thing would be covered!! That did not happen!!!!! Best Buy said they could not fix the phone. But, for $199 they would send it to apple for me!!!! I myself then ordered a battery from Amazon for $ 7.85 and installed it myself!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Best Buy !!!!!!
