I recommend to always get the Geek Squad warranty!!! While I am tech savvy, I still break things. They are wonderful and have exceeded my expectations every single time. Besides an occasional long line, i have never had a single issue with them. Honestly the staff and the Geek Squad is the main reason i am a loyal customer. Even if i find something somewhere else, i always get Best Buy to match the price and buy it from them so that i can rest easier knowing i have protection!!!

I usually take out the extended warranty on my purchases, that way if I need any assistance I can talk to the Geek Squad for help. Also, if by chance the product has a problem after the return time is over I can go to the Geek Squad and they will fix the problem or replace it. The few times I need to talk to the Geek Squad, they were very informative and able to answer and assist me with what I needed.

I love the team at Best Buy, they are always very knowledgeable in answering my questions. They are always very helpful and I myself think they do a GREAT JOB and are always sincere and willing to fix what they can. If they come across something that they can not fix in store, they have a backup team outside of store that they do need to send your product out to. But, sending out does not happen often.

Don't hesitate to buy a Netgear router (like the Orbi) if you enjoy the following:
• Cycling power to your WiFi router every 48-72 hours
• Constant nag to subscribe to built-in Netgear security services*
• Lackluster app-based admin control
• 2-3 minute wait for an admin page to load (app or browser-based)
• Regular firmware updates that fix security bugs but create operational bugs
I've used the RBK50 mesh system for just over a year (purchased April 2019). For the first 10 months, I had few problems and okay coverage. Together, the RBR50 base and RBS50 satellite cover 90% of a 1-story 3,000 sf house.
Then came the 11th month and a random autoupdate to firmware v2.5.1.8 (Released 12/19/2019). Afterwards, the router has required a regimen of no less than one weekly restart. At times, it increased to as much as every 48 hours. I found and resolved small issues (ie. for some reason the router had updated, but not the satellite), finally bringing all equipment to the current "stable" firmware release (v2.5.1.16) in early May. Nothing has helped.
The Orbi system randomly stops working every 48-72 hours. My internet service and broadband modem have no issues. The Orbi doesn't lose power or flash error lights and no devices lose their network connection. The Orbi simply stops responding to URL requests, web and app-based admin control. The only fix is to manually cycle power on the router and wait approx. 10 minutes.
I previously used a Linksys WRT series WiFi router and a pair of AirPort Extremes. Both served an average of 8-16 residents and 25-50 devices. Both remained extremely reliable for a combined 20 years. Both still work 100% today. Unfortunately, those trusted devices had to be replaced as WiFi specs advanced, device counts further increased and the need for mesh became apparent. It was especially unfortunate that that Apple abandoned their AirPort line.
Despite the positive reviews when I purchased the RBK50, time has revealed the true nature of Orbi and the support it receives. While I hoped the system would be a solid step on the way to WiFi 6, less than a year of use revealed it was a wasted investment. Never again, Netgear.
*A link to Netgear's Armor service (prominently labeled "Security") is one of the main controls for the app and browser-based admin settings. Choosing it removes you from settings and takes you to a sign-up-and-pay website for the service. Many places where you see the word "security" do the same thing. It is very frustrating.

Unless you want to lose money instead of getting the item repaired/replaced with store credit, I always recommend family and friends to get GSP. it's worth the extra bucks in the event of any issues the item you have develops.

As an employee, I've personally used GSPR multiple times which allowed me to swap out my worn out or defective products. I highly recommend it for people who don't want to go through the pain of communicating with the MFG for replacement of their product. Plus, if there isn't something comparable to the item you bought the GSPR on, you could get the amount you paid for it in a store credit.

I have not had the occasion to use the Extended Warranty from Best Buy, but I sleep better knowing that I have it in case I need it. This is tied to the ARRIS SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 I purchased in August of 2020. I usually do not get an Extended Plan but I have had far too many issues with Routers and/or Modems to keep throwing money away. I would recommend this insurance policy!

The Geek Squad warranty is the most convenient and hassle-free warranty ever. I put this warranty on every electronic purchase for a very reasonable premium. Whenever I needed to use the warranty, my device or item was either replaced or repaired quickly without any paperwork or unnecessary questioning. I'd recommend putting this warranty on all Best Buy purchases for extra peace of mind.

I am so impressed with how trained these people are. They are totally respectful to you. They have patience and are so well mannered.
They will take the time to train you to understand how to use the products you have had them install. They remove everything so you don’t have the trash after they are finished.

When we purchase an appliance or a TV from BestBuy, we always get the Geek Squad extended warranty. There was a lesson learned from a major appliance we purchased but did not purchase the extended warranty. Just a few weeks after the manufacture's warranty expired, the appliance quit working properly. After getting a quote on repair, it was more sensible to purchase a new appliance!

The total tech support is such an awesome service. It is worth every penny spent. We have had to use the services several times. The agents are all very polite & knowledgable. Even when they do an in home service call they are very respectful.

Always get protection on high dollar items. One day your sitting there and turn the tv on. Then notice pixels burned out. Covered. Earthquake happens. Tv falls. Covered. You upset the wife, she throws a glass, misses your head and hits the Brand new 75” tv. They don’t offer counseling, but At least Best Buy has your back to replace the tv. Good to go.

If I buy something that costs more than $250, I always get the Geek Squad Replacement plan. I had to use twice in 7 years - once for a GoPro camera I dropped and another time for a Ring Video Doorbell that just stopped working. Each time, I received a new item immediately without any hassle.

I get 2yr replacement plans on every single one of my Best Buy purchases. Best Buy makes it so easy to deal with the general headache of something going wrong with the tech that's important to you and making your life easy.
You walk into a store, tell the Geek Squad folks what happened, and they'll make it right.

I enjoy having the security of 2-yr product replacement. Things that have failed for me in the past always fail after the manufacturer warranty. Even if I had something fail inside the manufacturer warrantee, it seems it would be much easier to go back to the store rather then deal with things through the mail.

In the last three years, I have had several small appliances and other electrical items go out on me after only having them from a few months up to a year. None of these were from Best Buy and no warranty was offered for these items. I’ve had good luck with items I’ve purchased from Best Buy but, acquire the added protection, just in case a lemon shows up! It’s little cost for peace of mind!

I have been buying 2 or 3 year replacement policies on things with moving parts and shorter life spans for some time. It is about a 50-50 proposition, but when I need it, the Geeks make me so glad I did. No hassle replacements after a brief diagnostic review leave me back to the work I bought the devise for in the first place. Thank you Geeks!

I have had a Geek Squad maintenance agreement 6 or 8 years and I have never regretted it. The first computer I bought from Best Buy and a Geek Squad maintenance agreement, I had to take in for repairs on the third time which was almost 3 years later they gave a new computer which was 3 times the processor speed, 3 or 4 times the memory, 4 times the disk space. I have kept everything I buy under maintenance since.

This is a great way to protect your investment. Aside from the warranty that the company is providing, an additional fee will help you extend the warranty of your products bought. What I love about the bestbuy warranty is that there is no questions asked, they are going to repair or replace the product.
