    "Are you ready Steve? Andy? Alright fellas, let's go!" The opening line to Sweet's Ballroom Blitz was a standard on AM and FM radio stations in the mid-'70s. If you are looking for a compilation album of some of the better songs of the era you will likely be disappointed here. To say the least, the variety of songs and genres is interesting, especially a compilation disc which hopes to capture Top 40 hits of the decade. But choose a genre and stick with it. Don't cram disco (ugh!) in with Rick Derringer and Badfinger. One-hit wonders abound on this disc, and I can understand why: they are easier to locate in one consolidated disc than search all over Rhapsody for it. Yes, most of these songs are good choices. However, they don't belong together in this package. Recording company execs, we all know that compact disc sales are on the decline. The licensing for some of these songs must be easier than trying to throw in Wings, The Who, or Rolling Stones. I can understand that. Have the compilation assortments make sense thematically and musically. This disc does neither. As the song goes, "If you wanna get to heaven, you gotta raise a little ..."
