Amazing Modern Horror, Great Blu-ray

If you're looking for a movie to keep you up for a few nights but also keep you enticed with a well-developed dramatic narrative, this is the movie you're looking for--riveting horror at a breakneck pace that serves an excellent story.
Video-wise, the movie was shot on store-bought DCLR cameras, so there's frankly not going to be a huge leap in visual quality, save the very few 35mm-filmed shots--but those are very few and far-between. However, that's not a bad thing: this Blu-ray accurately represents the movie's visuals.
The audio is where it's at. The included DTS-HD MA 5.1 is big and immersive. Voices carry light background fuzz to keep with the movie's low-fi tone, but they're always legible, and bass is extremely powerful. In keeping with Danny Boyle's thing for excellent sound design, use of the surrounds is frequent and impressive, and fidelity is more impressive than that of it's DVD counterpart.
Special features-wise, it's all the same as the DVD, but that's not a bad thing: while note amazing, it's a decent array of featurettes.

I wasn't really scared a whole lot by the storyline in 28 Days Later, but I was really scared while watching the movie anyway, thanks to the sound system in my DVD player making me jump through the roof whenever an infected zombie-like creature would crash through a window and attack innocent people, or just go absolutely insane at the most unpredictable moments!
This movie reminds me of those old Resident Evil video games. Absolutely terrific and scarier than you can possibly imagine.
Some people might not like the fact that there's not a whole lot in the way of action, but honestly, there's a good deal of action sequences despite the fact it's not necessarily a totally action-dominated film, and the atmosphere that builds up to those action sequences is pretty terrific too, because you get a sense of constant uneasy feelings around every turn. You really feel the main characters as they struggle to find a way to safety and survive.
My favorite thing about the movie are how the monsters go crazy whenever they become infected, and it's just an exciting movie.

This is a great movie. It is not just a great horror movie but just a great movie in general. It is action packed. It is very psychological. It is very symbolic. And it has an amazing soundtrack.
In the movie all of the "infected" were driven by rage. I think the writer intended this to symbolize the world in general, for example, war, politics, etc. The beginning where Cilian wakes up in the hospital to the whole city being deserted gets me every time. It really gets you thinking. The effects are really cool as well. Most people do not know that most of the movie had to have all the city's citizens edited out to make it look like there was no one there.
Overall this movie is amazing. Go buy it.

Before I saw this movie, I thought it was going to be another run off the mill average D horror movie. But I couldn't of been any more mistaken. 28 Days Later, not only had great acting, but the story was so diifferent from any other zombie infection movie. The storyline had so much depth to it. You never know what is going to happen next. Even though it is a horror movie, there is plenty of comedic comments and situations the charcters get themselves in to. Cillian Murphy is a great break out actor and there will be a lot more films from him, I can assure you of that. There is so much art direction in this movie, and the music is dramatically moving.

i love this movie alot more than the other zombie movies due to its gritty take on surviving and also the threat of other humans as well as the zombies. i enjoyed the story bettter than resident evils odd stories that seem spit out with no thought behind them. the 28 days later, and 28 weeks later are both good and i personally enjoy watching them. if you are a fan of zombie movies it is agreat addition to your collection.

The video quality in 28 Days Later is absolutely terrible. And that was something that was intended by the movie's creator. He managed to achieve the grime-laden look he wanted by using a cheap DV camcorder. But owning this movie on Blu-ray is pretty much pointless.
Someone might disagree, but frankly, it's just a waste of money to buy it on Blu-Ray. You can keep (or buy) a DVD version of the movie, and you'll be getting almost the same result at half the price.
It's really a shame, though. It's a great zombie movie. And seeing this with a sharp, crisp HD picture would've been even better.
It is what it is, though. Maybe worth renting on Blu-Ray, but really not worth buying unless you can get it for under $6.

This is one of the best zombie movies to come out in the past decade. Unlike any other zombie movie. Great gore scenes, it might give you nightmares. Has a bad ending, atleast an unexpected ending. If you are a horror fan, than your collection should have this film.

This movie has some fairly frightening imagery and good acting. When Cillian Murphy first wakes up in a ravaged London to find the city mostly deserted is a very well done scene. The infected may not be zombies, but they sure treat the world like they are.

I really love this film, but the video quality is pretty bad for blu-ray. It was filmed with a lower resolution digital camera, so it will never look that great, but it's still an enjoyable film.

Look, I originally came on here to see if the video quality was bad on every blu ray, because I actually bought mine in the UK. So it seems it's just how the movie was made. But if you enjoy the film, let's say on a grade scale you'd give the film an A, but the video quality is no better than a DVD, you give the video quality an F, that balances out to a C!! Don't give the film a bad rating just because the video quality isn't any better than when it originally came out! The film itself is worth $15. If anything get blu ray for the upgraded audio.

What if you woke up in the hospital 28 days after the onset of a zombie apocalypse? Who do you trust? How can you know?

Amazing director Danny Boyle gives life to a great story. It's not a zombie movie, but gave a zombie apocalypse vibe.I loved the camera angles and the soundtrack was equally awesome.I personally would have liked a little more gore, but thats just me.A great movie to pop in on a stormy night!

Just an all out great movie can't wait for the next one. I mean come on now there are some (zombie like) poeple with the deadly "rage" virus and you really have to run for you life not just walk by the infected.
