Great movie, but not the best time to review and watch it

I didn't think they could out do the original but this was an excellent addition!

Well deserved sequel to the original 28 Days Later!! A unique and fast paced movie!!

Not the best movie, but it is OK. Something to watch if you're bored and nothing is on TV.

Despite the quality actors involved and the previous installment, this movie should never have been green-lit. The script is terrible and the movie cannot be saved!

I really enjoyed Boyles 28 Days Later and was thrilled when I heard a sequel was in the works, but later finding out David won't be the Director but the Executive Producer, I questioned if the new Director could keep the film true to its original concept. I watched with reservations but was pleased the premise of 28 Weeks mirrored the original, but on a more vast scale, with a much larger budget, giving the director more options on which way he should take this vehicle. Now the Plot was definitiely its weakest aspect, with the main characters doin a respectable job, acting out their parts, but at the same time doing, unbelievable things, such as surviving a nerve gas attack by covering their mouths with clothing, or a helicopter pilot going head to head with zombies, using the blades of his copter, these things, while looking fantastic, in the end took away from the realism the original enjoyed, which is the most important aspect when dealing with films in the Zombie genre, it's already out their, beyond belief, with most people are already taking it with a jump of faith, but 28 Weeks took too many liberties with peoples imaginations to be seen as authentic. Now I will say this, visually speaking this movie is superior to the original and it shows on this Blu-ray. 28 Days suffered from the decisions David Boyle made when selecting the grade of filming media used. His handy-cam shaky footage, while adding some dread to the foot chases do nothing for the High Definition Presentation. This time around the Director chose some more stable methods of filming giving the color, contrast and definition a more balanced platform, which makes the jump to Blu-ray a seamless affair. I really enjoyed 28 Weeks Later, with all its flaws & felt the directing took a new direction but still had that 28 Days Later feel to it, so this film succeeds in its original intentions to pickup where the people of Britain left off.. Hanging on by the tip of their nails.. Good Film. I recommend it!

28 Days Later was a surprise hit, so you knew there would be a sequel. This is a decent zombie flick -- except these zombies are wicked fast runners! -- but there were just too many plot holes. "28 Weeks Later" picks up where "28 Days Later" left off. The virus that's been turning ordinary human beings into flesh-eating zombies has apparently run its course, the infected humans have all died of starvation, and Britain is slowly being repopulated with many of the citizens who fled the scene at the start of the epidemic. One of those returnees is Don (played by Robert Carlyle), who is suffering from survivor's guilt after leaving his wife in a moment of panic to be devoured by the creatures. Or was she? Suffice it to say, it's hard to keep a good virus down and soon London is in the grip of a major new outbreak of the illness. Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, Imogen Poots and MacKintosh Muggleton (what a great name!) play various characters who spend the bulk of the movie running for their lives from the menace. Zombie pictures have become such a staple of the horror movie genre that it is hard for anyone to do anything particularly novel or original with them anymore. Zombie bites human, human turns into zombie, new zombie bites another human, and on it goes ad infinitum. That scenario may have been fresh and exciting when George Romero first introduced it to the world in "Night of the Living Dead" back in 1968, but it has been diluted through repetition and overuse ever since (partly by Romero himself with his endless, ever diminishing variations on the theme). The one innovation the original "28 Days Later" came up with was to speed up the zombies' movements so that they were no longer the lumbering creatures that anyone's 85-year-old granny could easily outrun. "28 Weeks Later" has some genuinely suspenseful moments and a nice post-apocalyptic feel in its early stretches, but, like its predecessor, it tends to devolve into a tedious shooting-gallery sideshow the longer it goes on. Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's hurdy-gurdy filmmaking style, which is intended to replicate the chaos and pandemonium of the situation, often leads more to confusion than to clarification for the audience. Still, the movie contains a few cool plot twists and raises some thorny ethical issues, such as whether or not innocent people are to be sacrificed if that means ensuring the safety of the population as a whole. And there is certainly more than enough bloodshed and general mayhem to keep the zombiephiles among us rooted to our seats. Even the undead can have fun with that.

This sequel to the 2003 British horror thriller "28 Days Later" is even more suspenseful and gripping than the original, with a bigger budget that is well used on some amazing special effects. The only annoying thing about the movie is that virtually every "zombies attack" scene is shot in epileptic shaky-cam , with footage spliced together so haphazardly that it's as if the editor got infected with the rage virus and couldn't concentrate. But forget that nitpickery -- everything else about the movie more than makes up for the fact that the attack scenes go by at strobe-light speed. For one thing, Imogen Poots (man, what an unlikely moniker) is perfect as the teenage heroine of the flick, a girl who has such a distinctive and cat-like look that she seems almost otherworldly.

28 Weeks Later is the follow up to 28 Days Later and is just another well done zombie movie. I have to say even on Blu Ray the zombies still look very really, and I would go as far as saying they look more real, because of the picture quality. I have to say for a zombie movie the attempt to show the connection of the family that you follow is pretty well done. It's also interesting as this family could possibly be the key to solving the rage virus, or spreading it further. If you liked the first one you will like the sequel. The sequel doesn't have the twist that you got at the end of the last one, but you will still enjoy it. Lots of zombies, guns, and blood. If that's your thing then you will want to see 28 Weeks Later.

More thrills,more kills,more spills.This is not like the first with one kill here, one kill there. This is what I wanted from the first movie.The plot could have been better.There's a woman on the box with the red, and blue eyes she somehow can survive with the virus inside her.But when her husband gets word she's alive he goes to see her.When he does he kisses her, and her saliva gets into his mouth causing him to carry the virus and it all starts over again.But I say Yes to this one.

Heart wrenching drama in a tragic zombie world. Great drama and a great horror film combined. It's very dramatic and sets up very tough situations than anyone would have a hard time trying to decide. Best horror film since the Exorcist to me. Then again I'm not a huge horror fan, but I have seen a good amount. A couple leaps of faith need to be taken to go along with the story, but I gladly followed along. I was totally immersed in the film. The opening scene is one of the best in a long time. Not for the faint of heart either, one scene in particular the gore is very gruesome, but the scene has meaning and isn't random. The twists and turns are great.

you know I thought I would never say this but with this movie I was surprised at the military accuracy this movie I mean I have seen some military movies that have uniforms all jacked up and equipment that wasnt even in that era or time,battle,war,etc.....but being in the military I am surprised at the uniforms,commands,and equipment being used but thats besides the point this movie is incredible,and you really dont need to see 28 days later to understand this movie too much,if your a zombie fan this movie is for you,if your not you might enjoy it you might not but I recommend everybody watch it at least once

I LOVED the original film, and when i heard about the sequel I was excited...until I heard it was a different director and there were no returning characters. So I had really low expectations for this one after seeing a few previews. But surprisingly, I thought it was brilliant! Maybe even more entertaining than the first. I am especially glad that they used the same music from the first film. It just makes the movie. There were a lot of parts that just really surprised me, and the plot took unexpected turns (for me). I would definitely recommend this film!!

For past couple of years, Hollywood is just loving Zombie movies and with this sequel hopefully it will be the end. I liked this movie but it kinda reminded me of Aiens with introduction of an army to help the fight of zombies. If you liked the first than you'll like this one, but don't expect to see returning characters

Being a fan of 28 Days Later I was expecting alot from Weeks, and in the end it was a great follow up to one of my favorite Zombie movies in many years. It has its scare moments, great actors where no sympathy is spared for any of the actors. I definitly reccomend this to horror fans and Zombie junkies alike.

the opening scene is pretty violent and intense. the rest of the movie takes place in a city of survivors from the events of the first movie. the army guys are pretty believable for the most part but the only likeable army guy that you get to know dies to early. but dont worry, his friend steps in later. the helicopter scene in the open field was gruesome and doen in a pretty cool way. the son and the daughter actually do pretty good in this as the main stars. now from the trailer, it looks like the dad is the main star and that hes looking for the kids or something. well hes not, in fact he dies in the begining and becomes the main villian throughout the entire movie. this isnt as good as the first but its still ok. its too short and its almost your typical horror survivor movie but its got a good style and its very well done.
