    I buy alot of equipment for my business and family, and I always buy a 3 year accidental geek squad protection plan for all of it. There is good and bad. On one hand, I had a Microsoft Surface Pro that kept having issues, and it was replaced several times. On the last day of the 3 year term, I brought it in again but this time, they were not able to replace it with a like model. Therefore, they issued a gift card for the full amount I paid for it, and frankly, it almost did not seem fair. I went across the store, and spent it on a new computer and of course bought the 3 year protection. I had a Lenovo Mini PC, 18 months old, i9 technology, I loved it. Power went out, and after two weeks of waiting, they would not replace it, and got a gift card. I cannot get that unit again. If you do not have an appt, or you are even 10 minutes late, multiple times at multiple stores, they will turn you away. Twice when this happened, nobody was at the counter, and they literally told me that this may be true, but we have appts and if they show, they can't be helping somebody with another appt time or with no appt. I had to come back. When you do drop a unit off, there is no way to reach them, unless they call you. If you call back, I have never reached that person. Also, it could be a week or 4 weeks that you are in the dark. In general, the lion's share of this dept that I have experienced are not all that interested in your pain and have this sort of "you need us more than we need you" mentality.

    After finding out later that coverage varies on the item, I'm a little annoyed by the process. In the past, I was able to get items repaired or credit for the value of the current price. Now the protocol is if they can't repair it, then literally send out for a used one ( that they keep correcting me and calling it "refurbished"... Which is is literally used). If I wanted a used item,I would've just bought it. Then they tell me it's been certified and guaranteed... Cool... But now I have to wait 2 weeks for it to come in so I'm without my product, when you could just give me the current value and I can upgrade, buy a new one and pay the difference... Like you used to do. DON'T GET ME WRONG, they are still great to have, but I kinda don't like the whole refurbished part, unless you opt for it. OR EVEN BETTER SUGGESTION, BEST BUY SHOULD ORDER THE REFURBISHED ITEM, REMOVE THE PART I NEED AND PUT IT IN MY ITEM, SEND THE BROKEN PART, WITH THE REFURBISHED ITEM, BACK TO WHERE EVER THEY GOT IT AND SAY "REPAIRED" AND PROBLEM SOLVED. I like my plan better.

    They get you with fear with this thing. Don’t buy into it. Your item is brand new. If it’s a piece of garbage, return it. Don’t buy

    GEEK SQUAD UNABLE TO DO A SIMPLE JOB.

    THESE PEOPLE AT GEEK SQUAD NEED HELP, I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE ENOUGH QUALIFIED TECHS TO DO THE JOB. I GAVE THEM 11 DAYS TO TRANSFER DATA FROM MY OLD TO THE NEW ONE I HAD JUST BOUGHT. THEY TOLD ME FOR THE FOURTH TIME IT WOULD BE READY AT 5:00 FRIDAY, WELL IT WASANT, SO I TOLD THEM TO FORGET IT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK ON THE DATA TRANSFER AND PICKED UP EVERY THING AND BROUGHT IT HOME. NOW I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN GET MY MONEY BACK ON THE THREE YEAR PROTECTION PLAN?

    bought a new computer felt I needed them to transfer the stuff. It was a drawn out affair, with multiple appointments, missing data, non working programs, and etc. Eventually it was done, but when I needed tech support on line or by phone with issues it turned into a hassle. Ended up using a different provider, and paying them as I needed. Already looking at replacing this one year old computer, next time will go somewhere and have it built to meet my needs.

    I wish I had been made aware at time of purchase that apparently this does not cover online support. That is a whole other SEPARATE CHARGE. You have to purchase another plan in order to get online support. And what is also bad is I never received the e-mail detailing what this plan entails. Not sure if this is actually worth the $169 I paid for it. I am disappointed and feel a bit ripped off. So now I have to unhook and drag in a computer system that is not performing up to par based on Benchmark results. A 2 month old computer system that cost over $1300 that my husband got for me.

    They never kept me updated

    It’s a good plan as my wife accidentally dropped our Lenovo and the screen cracked. The only problem I faced were the constant changes they kept making when I turned it in to get fixed. All in all it took about a month and half to get a simple screen fixed. They never called texted or emailed to update us on the status.

    I don't think the Geek Squad employees are happy with their jobs. I have no plans on ever trying to use their services again. I understand people having bad days, but when an employee tries to treat me like I don't know what is good for my devices there is an issue.

    There is no diagnostic tech support with this program, be sure to read details of what you are buying. No tech support or protection on this program for hardware or software issues..... You still have to go back to store with all equipment to get warranty item support

    When I did have to call the Geek Squad the one time, they were of no use whatsoever. I am hopeful is I have to call them again in the future that I have a better experience

    Got computer March 2021. Graphics card is fired. Normal gaming play on it. Of course 6 months out of warrant

    No one has gotten back to me about my warranty

    So my warranty ends and April and I’m pretty sure my pc peer supply just blew and nobody at Best Buy wants to get back to me about how to fix it.. Someone told me that in 24 hours somebody would call me to come pick it up but it’s been 48 and I haven’t even gotten an email about it??

    The protection plans seem to be extremely effective when being sold, but seems to cover very little when being used.

    You would be better off just being careful and not doing things that might trash tour laptop etc. This is not worth the money
