Adding a 5 yr. warranty is a no brainer.

The 5 year Geek Squad Repair/Replacement warranty is reasonably priced ( my 58"set was $79), and has covered 3 TV replacements in the last 11-12 years. Once the Geek Squad approves replacement, they allow the full price on your old set against the current price on a current model with similar features, or you can spend the difference on an upgrade. You pay any difference, and for putting a warranty on the new model. These flat screen sets do have pixel failures quite often, so putting the warranty is a no brainer. The factory warranty is much shorter.
Use 2yr warranty at 4mo ->cancels rest of warranty

My son’s mp3 player wouldn’t hold a charge. Apparently this particular brand/model often has this problem. I took it to Best Buy and was told probably a battery problem (not what internet stories said, but makes sense too).
When I said it was used less than 4 months, the service person said okay we can do an exchange. Great.
When he ordered it, it showed on Best Buy’s website that the item was unavailable in store or online, but he was putting the order through anyway.
At that time, he asked if I wanted to pay for a warranty again. Again?? This thing stopped working so soon that I had to use my warranty within only 4 months, which means I’m now not covered for the remaining 20+ months from the original warranty. He clarified this is Best Buy policy, not manufacturer, that original warranty expires. I guess I better get a warranty again after this experience? (his brother has the same one, so I can’t go rogue and get a whole new thing), but if this happens again, I’m close to buying a new one at that point.
He’s finishing the transaction, tells me it’s going to be almost 1.5 weeks until I get the new one now, and I’m still thinking through all of this, and I asked, is it possible for me to change the battery? “Yes, you could probably watch a YouTube video and change it.” He didn’t mention that in the first place, the battery may have been cheaper than buying a warranty again (if that was the real issue), and because he’s now completed the transaction, I am required to give the old mp3 player to them, so I lost that opportunity. Frustrating experience overall. (Plus the 20 min wait time past my appt time.)
The Monday of supposed delivery, I get an email saying it’s delayed, maybe get it by Friday, but if not received in the next 2.5 weeks, they’ll refund. It’s still showing unavailable online - all color options - so I’m worried this thing won’t come back in stock, I’ll have waited 4 weeks for my son to still have nothing, and then I’ll still need to find and order it from somewhere else.
Today I get an email saying it’s ready for shipping, but when I check, it says delivery by their “drop dead” refund date, which is still 2 weeks away. Is it really ready for shipping?
This has not been a great experience. The warranty policy being void immediately upon product replacement is the most awful part, I think. Imagine if this were something pricier, it didn’t work shortly after, they replace, and they make you pay $10s or $100s to warranty the new one all over again? Don’t warranty bad products and have a canceled warranty policy to put that back on the consumer. Live up to your original warranty - THIS PURCHASE SHOULD LAST YOU 2 YEARS, and if it doesn’t, it’s on us for that duration.

The geek squad protection plan is worth it every single time. I purchase it on every product it is available on. It is so incredibly easy to fulfill in store the same day you’re there as well! Nothing like other “insurance” plans, this is a protection plan!

I've bought lots of MP3 player in the last twenty years! This is the best one yet! I won't buy another without the extra warranty it pays for itself almost every time!

When taking player out of box noticed screen was scuffed which does not remove looked at the plastic container in which the device ships and is also scuffed so the screens are getting damaged during transport due to no protective peel of film on screen.

I am sure you will appreciate buying this when you run over your electronic device with your steam roller while accidentally leaving it on the driveway.

I purchased this plan for my new product. I have had a few experiences with the accidental Geek Squad Protection plan. Those experiences have always been great and I was glad that I purchased the plan.

I like that it holds my spot. You do have to go to the menu, local folder and press the "M" button, but it will hold your spot. It has lots of memory. It has more than my previous one. If a file starts with punctuation, you will have to change it since the are using the alphabet to place it on the player. I like the blue color.

My kids are ages 10 and 13. This plan reassures you that you will be safe letting your kids roam around and play on their iPods. I say that because they are covered 100% no matter what happens to the iPods. If it breaks, gets water damage, ran over, broke in anyway, then it's covered 100%.

We usually purchase protection but made the mistake of not buying it when I recently bought a TV. Needless to say when we moved it 4 months later, it broke and wasn't covered under manufacture warrantee. Had I spent the (I believe) $49 for the Best Buy protection, then they would have replaced the TV. Instead it will cost us about $250 to have it fixed. Lesson learned.

Purchased the extra warranty when I bought an iPod and it was a good thing I did because when she cracked the screen and I contacted best buy about they replaced it with no problem. The only downside was that I had to purchase anther warranty for it when it got replaced

Mistakenly ordered the wrong color. Returned to the store with no complaints and reordered the correct color with assistance by Best Buy Associate. A wonderful experience. Gift received timely with no harm. Over 50 pics taken the first day - good quality. Music sounds great over headphones or bluetooth speakers. I'm the best gma ever!! Thanks Best Buy.

My son had this protection on his iPod and made use of it when it developed a crack in the screen. there was no hassle in using it and the instructions provided made it easy to back up his broken iPod and then transfer everything to the new one when it arrived.

with anything from best buy its a good idea to get some sort of protection plan. They are very good with taking care of their customers that give the extra effort to get the plan. Totally worth it to protect the even bigger investment you already probably made
