For those that can't afford the entire box set of all 30 shows, this compilation can't be beat. It shows the changes within the band as time went on and band members changed. "The bus came by, and I got on, that's when it all began," a long time ago for me, but if you don't already love the Grateful Dead, then you really should buy this compilation as a starting point for your own personal musical journey. You won't be disappointed.

Although we could have all chosen personal favorites from the best band in all of the land, this set gives you a great sampling of shows and sound quality from each year. It is a shame the box was so expensive. For me this is a wonderful set of songs that will keep me listening.

decent compilation but how do you choose from such a vast body of work? i thought some of the choices could have been better.

WOW! This 4 disc compilation of live performances will knock the sandals off any Deadhead out there. It's well mastered. Unbelievable performances leave you wanting more!
